Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tried to book a table online- awaiting confirmation for lunch time today to not recieve confirmation. So glad that during a credit crunch that this restaurant is in the enviable position to ignore customers by not confirming bookings nor answering the telephone. Shall not bother...trying to book to visit this restaurant again.More

We’re local customers and have been for years (and years). To say we’re gutted that this beautiful pub is being run the way it is is an understatement. Staff are indifferent, with one in particular running around like he owns the joint (he doesn’t). In...the lounge bar, music blares out (I’m not a OAP, in my 40’s in fact) but I do like to hear my partner speak. The music is not even main stream! The food used to be good, with a varied and reasonably priced menu. Now, we’re looking at mains in the excess of £18, and I’m not talking about steaks here but a burger!!! We’re in Havant not London!! I’ve always been a massive advocate of this pub, bringing friends, family and colleagues to it. I even had my dad’s and my late partner’s wake here. I am so sad this is what it has come to. Bring back Fullers!!!!!More

All we wanted was good value pub food and a decent pint and we were not disappointed. Very nice food, very well priced and a nice pint to wash it down with.

Delightful old pub in the centre of Havant. Food was nice. Gammon is a great choice. Staff was friendly and lovely atmophere. Booking is recommended. Mind the head if you are tall as ceiling/door are low :)

Gone down hill since management change over. Overpriced and under value meals/desserts. Not advised/or asked on what milk used for tea/coffees. I cannot have full cream milk and was given it!!!! Much smaller portions than expected for price paid!!!! Desserts were also the same. We...first came to this pub back in the 70's, so know it well with all the changes over the years. I am afraid we definitely won't be coming back again.More

We chose this pub as it looked like a nice place from the outside and the menu looked good. We ordered our drinks and the waitress came to our table to take our order. We ordered burgers and requested the burger and bacon well done...(a lot of pubs seem to serve pink burgers and that’s not to our taste) The food arrived about 20 minutes later but were only served a single burger. When we asked where the other one was we were told we only ordered one. The waitress went back to the kitchen then came back apologetic and admitted it was her mistake. I asked if the burgers could be served together rather than one of us eat first and was happy for it to be kept on the hot plate rather than cook a fresh one. The two burgers arrived together but as I cut into mine it was very pink in the middle and my husband had blood dripping from his! We called the waitress over again and mentioned we asked for it to be well done to be told we only asked for the bacon well done. Back to the kitchen they went but ‘because we’d cut into it it would have to have two new ones’ We eventually got two burgers as requested but having been such a faff to get them we were just wanted to eat them and leave. It was such a disappointing experience because it could have been so easily prevented by the waitress repeating back what we’d ordered. We were in the area for 2 nights and would have returned had it not been for the error and service as it seemed like a nice pub.More

The menu doesn’t reflect what’s on line. There are no vegan options and many of the decent choices are no longer available. The place is rough and noisy and even if there was good food available, I can bet you really wouldn’t want to eat...there. This is a locals pub without charmMore

Really good Roast Beef Sunday lunch today. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, all fresh vegetables. Roast beef was very plentiful and the potatoes were crisp. Slightly salty gravy, so don’t add any until you try. Looking forward to the pub getting their new ovens in...6 weeks time so we can go back to the home made yorkshires. Staff very friendly and helpful as usual.More
