Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had to pay £2.50 more for the privilege of being gluten free (a health issue not a lifestyle choice) and then received an inferior high tea - only two sandwich choices, no quiche, disappointing shop bought cakes and a biscuit! No scones - apparently...they didn’t have any despite being given a weeks notice that I was coming.More

I looked at this venue on line and saw their menu was very reasonably priced, nice twist and a bit different, so made the effort and met my friend there. The staff were lovely, the place is fun and unique. I'm so torn on what...we ordered, I had a tuna mayo sandwich, the filling was nice and plentiful, but it was margarine on basic white cheap bread. I don't know if it was my expectation, but if ever I go out for lunch and order a sandwich I expect bloomer bread or doorstop sandwiches, I mean I could have done better at home. The price was £6.50 with a handful of crisps. I mean I was expecting the £4 it showed and still shows on their website, so if I had fresh bread I would have been happy to pay the difference. Such a shame, as I would have loved to return but solely because of the bread I won't.More

A friend of mine took me and another friend to The Four Teas Tea Room, as she has done with many other friends in the past. It was great! I heard about the tea room years ago, but never got around to going when it...was in the smaller shop, so this was a treat. This will definitely be my go to place to eat whenever I am in Havant. It's such a breath of fresh air to go to a place with character. You have to go and order, not sit and wait for the staff to come to you. Food was lovely and well presented. We had toasted sandwiches with choice of dressed salad or crisps. There is so much to look at and take in and obviously it oozes with nostalgia, from the themed areas to the programmes broadcast on the radio. Well done Jacqui/Betty and staff, I loved it.More

What a lovely surprise. Came in town to do some shopping. Fancied a cup of coffee but all the usual coffee suspects were dog unfriendly. Fantastic welcome, lovely staff, brilliant service and great cup of coffee and toastie. Also a place our dog will never...forget when she was served with a freshly cooked sausage.More

First visit since they have moved across the road only to find the personal touch was left back in the old place .The decorations were great to look at and there is plenty to see. The downside was the food , we all had an...high tea the sandwiches were ok but the middle plate of quiche ,sausage roll and a pin wheel were awful . The quiche was like eating flavourless rubber . The sausage roll was dry and hard to swallow and the pinwheel had no taste whatsoever . The top plate had a nice light sponge cake but as for the rest it just didn’t look very tasty and it wasn’t there was a small chunk of bread pudding and small chunk of flap Jack and a few grapes. We also had a plain scone with jam and cream which was nice . No more table service it’s all self service and payment upfront. No more little tea charms . The owner was telling off a member of staff in front of customers which was not very professional and made us feel very uncomfortable .More

My 2 daughters treated me to a traditional afternoon tea for my 82nd birthday. What a marvellous place - full of memorabilia, and with such friendly staff. Not all the customers were "of a certain age" - we saw some in their early 30s and...more than one family with children while we were there. I shall have to take my husband there soon - I am sure he will enjoy the experience too.More
