The Folly Wine Bar downstairs was full as we arrived without reservations. It was suggested we try 'Upstairs at the Folly' which I understand is now under the same ownership, for our business lunch with clients in tow. What a great decision! The place wasn't full but considering the warmth of welcome, attentive service and really lovely homely food I'm... More

We arranged to have our Ruby Wedding Celebration Luncheon Party for approximately 60 guests on a Sunday....We picked a typical selection of Sunday Roasts for the menu and a selection of desserts. The whole event was managed and presented beautifully......would recommend wholeheartedly......

Came here on a Saturday evening and for some time we were the only people there. This was a shame because the food was really very good as was the service. But it needs some people to give it some life.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with a surprise lunch at the Upstairs Folly. The restaurant customised their set 3 course lunch menu for me and printed out the menus with a title and no prices shown. The staff were attentative without being intrusive and the food was excellent and plentiful. There was an excellent choice of wines and very... More

Have been here now on several occasions and never been disappointed. Good selection of dishes and my personal favourite is the 241 fijatas on a Thursday night...but well worth booking in advance to make sure you get a table. Staff are friendly and always polite. Tucked away above the Folly Bar, it's well worth checking out.

I had the pleasure to go out with work colleagues for something to eat and found the Follys upstairs, I thought it was going to be modern looking but was very pleased to see the old type beams and high roof you would find in a barn, but the décor was very pleasing on the eye. The food was served... More

Loved this restaurant since I was 18, and it only improved with new owners! Best restaurant in town which we reserve for special occasions. I had a meal with 18 friends and family here for my 21st birthday and could not have been more impressed by the setting, food or service! Meals are always cooked to perfection and staff and... More

This venue was a real surprise - we had relatively simple food but the steak was perfectly cooked and came with a very good sauce and accompaniments.

Only came in for one pint today for a friend's 18th birthday. We arrived sober. I ordered my one drink as any customer would. The bar man got it wrong and after telling him nicely it was wrong he said I had to use my PS and qs to get served there (which I was as always) then made me... More

Good Evening, I am very sorry to hear of this unfortunate event. However, I think you have the wrong Folly Wine Bar Trip Advisor page, we are the restaurant above the bar! We also only allow drinkers of 25years or over at weekends. Therefore I am sure that it is the Downstairs Bar you are refering to. If you would... More

First time back under new management. Same warm and friendly atmosphere. First class service. Good range of wines and beers. Food was very good. Not a vast menu but enough to cover most tastes and sensibly priced so that starters and mains with coffees and drinks came to £75 for three. Made for a very enjoyable Saturday evening.

Description
The Folly Wine Bar & Restaurant is one of Petersfield's most iconic and popular places.

With its high, wooden timbered vaulted ceiling, leaded windows and congenial atmosphere, you'd be forgiven for thinking our beautiful building was a centuries-old country retreat. Although it could easily embody such a history, it was actually purpose-built in 1916 as Petersfield's local garage.

Family-owned and run, The Folly is a stylish, warm and inviting drinking, dining and socialising icon in the heart of Petersfield. Combining the character of a superb heritage building with a delightful menu and wine selection- it is a true hidden gem.
