Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were so lucky to get a table as The Hunters was fully booked. We all had roast dinners. Really impressed they sell small roast dinners instead of children’s- I wasn’t embarrassed asking for a kids portion. Highlight on the menu was the doggy roast!...Oh and the triple chocolate brownie!More

We visited as a group of 5 and had a really lovely evening! Gemma welcomed us with a friendly smile at the bar and Marco was a great host/server - really knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel very welcome and looked after. The...food was excellent and we particularly all enjoyed dessert. Will come back again for sure!More

My wife came here early January 2024 and it was freezing inside then especially by the windows, but the staff were unable to do anything, today was the same, we had to put our jackets on and weren’t the only ones doing this, we never...said anything because you don’t need to be Einstein to realise people are cold, hence the jackets on and staff weren’t bothered anyway. I asked for a medium well steak and got raw, by the time I got my dinner everyone else had nearly finished. The size of my meal needed to be more. Not 1 time did the staff ask us if the food was ok. My mother does not have a big appetite, but her stew with few vegetables and being so small she had to have a dessert which was also small (bread and butter pudding). Daughters meal had no vegetables, and other places you can get 2-3 courses for the same price or less as hers cost. Overall a big disappointment especially as years ago this was my local and from the rating we expected a lot more. I can see why there are some negative reviews on here.More

Sunday lunch with six friends. A warm welcome at the bar and swift service for drinks. Our table was ready, the cutlery was clean, and bottles of water were delivered without the need to ask. I had roast chicken, which was a breast wrapped in...bacon, with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and five vegetables, plus delicious roast potatoes, and plenty of gravy. Everything was hot and it was a perfect portion size for me, in other words not too much so no waste. All the others had the pork roast, and there is an option to have a smaller appetite portion. I declined dessert, instead having coffee, but the menu says the puddings are homemade and they did all look delicious. More clean plates all round. The waiting staff were all charming, and efficient, so a tip was well earned. Note - there was no service charge added by the pub, it was all discretionary. The pub was really busy, with a great atmosphere. They allow dogs, and there is even a ‘doggy menu’! I would definitely go back to try other choices from the menu, even though it’s not exactly on my doorstep.More

Found this place on TripAdvisor looking for somewhere new to have a Sunday roast. Result, it was delicious!! The vegetables are beautifully cooked, homemade Yorkshire pudding and proper cauliflower cheese. Very prompt and friendly service, nice welcome from the landlord. Well worth the drive out...there, we'll definitely be going back. Highly recommended.More

Came on a Friday night as heard there was live music. Really nice atmosphere, live acoustic music and the food was good quality pub food. The lasagne had clearly been made in the kitchen on site, all in all really nice evening. Good vegetarian selection...on thr menu.More

The first impression is the friendly greeting when you enter. The meal was substantial and delicious, all fresh too. Marco was our waiter and he was so helpful with our choices. He entered into our banter with ease making this a very relaxed occasion in...relaxed surroundings.More

We haven't been to the Hunters for a while and were very impressed with the layout and decor. We received a friendly welcome and shown to our table, we had a dog with us and soon were brought a bowl of water for her, We...were offered drinks and the menu, and told about extra dishes. 3 of us chose the vegetarian roast, the portions were good, the nut roast delicious and served piping hot. I consider myself to be a good cook and sometimes disappointed with pub food, but not so at the Hunters. We will be back for more.More

Excellent ambiance on walking in, we loved the pub straight away. The food overall was quite good, unfortunately I thing the chip oil needs changing. Apart from that everything else was good. We will be back to sample the live music on a Friday night.
