Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying locally so stopped at the White Horse for a Friday evening meal with our dog and were made very welcome. The menu is extensive and appealing, we were spoilt for choice and we certainly weren’t disappointed when the food came. The presentation...was excellent and my partner (who had the liver and bacon) said it was the best meal he’d had out in a long time. We left room for dessert and they were also lovely. The pub is very inviting with a roaring log fire and friendly staff. We loved how dog friendly it was. We hadn’t been to this pub before but it’s not that far from home for us so we will certainly be back.More

We went here in December the 22nd with friends. Our Christmas Meal. The atmosphere was lovely and felt very Christmassy. I had the set Christmas Meal and the others of the menu. My starter was lovely and the Christmas Dinner too, but one complaint the...Roast Potatoes were hard and overdone. Other members of the Party were happy with their meals. Puddings were good. We have been to this pub/ restaurant on many occasions and never had a bad meal, but on this occasion I was disappointed with the Roast Potatoes, which to me are integral part of a Roast and Christmas Meal. We had a enjoyable evening, staff good and atmosphere perfect. We will be back in 2024.More

Our group of four had a really great three course Christmas meal here - so tasty and enjoyable! Enjoyed the ambience with Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers and a log fire too!

It was nice to revisit this pub restaurant that we've enjoyed a number of times in the past. Particularly good was the addition of a separate curry menu (which several of us ordered from) to the normal a la carte. There were 8 of us...and everyone enjoyed their meals. However, the staff were much less attentive than usual and for some reason we were seated in a large empy part of the restautant at the rear, which was cold.More

First class service. Beautiful pub. Beautiful surroundings. Say down and waitress came over straight away. Drinks and food ordered. The food was amazing. Presented beautifully and hot food. It was absolutely delicious. Ate the whole lot. Very unusual for me. Thank you so much

We have dined at this pub/restuarant on many occasions and for dinner and lunch and the food has always been excellent and staff very attentive. Our last visit was back in August on a Saturday evening. My partner had the Curry and he says it...was up to Indian Restuarant standard and throughly enjoyed it. You do not often get Curries of that standard in a English Pub. My Fish and Chips were perfect. We have never been disatisfied with whatever we have eaten here in the past. The staff are friendly and always welcome with a hello and a goodbye!!! We will be back again!!More

Was invited by friends to a Saturday lunch at this pub. The menu is old fashioned, the food nearly passable and expensive. It’s quite clear this pub is living in the past of the good old days and not moved with the times. I presume...the landlord does not get out much and see what’s happening in the food scene and flexible enough to bring his menu into what people want today.More

Odd choice of sandwich fillings ie ham and tomato but not ham and cheese, and unwilling to be flexible on this, barmaid seemingly has also seemingly undergone a charisma bypass operation - probably not the best fit for the 'HOSPITALITY' trade love! To be fair,...food WAS good however so not a total washout but not cheap.More

A little gem of a place, with authentic olde world pub interior, such as exposed beams, subdued lighting, and a real fireplace. We got a referral from the Three Trees Campsite and were pleasantly surprised at the welcome our Bernese Mountain Dog received. Perfect evening...on Friday 30 June with a crisp walk from our tent. Thank you team White Horse!More

My partner and I stopped here before attending a wedding reception next door at the golf course, and it is SOO expensive. I understand the location may have something to do with the pricing but for 1 pint and 1 vodka, lemonade and lime it...was over £15.00? this isnt even enjoyable pricings. We sat outdoors and the chairs kept getting stuck between slabs and was not very stable. Think the ground could do with regrouting/pointing ?? Always wanted to come here for food, but seeing the prices of the drinks ill probably avoid now.More

Quaint old pub with a great atmosphere and staff. Sadly let down by the food quality. The vegetarian dish mushroom and lentil pie is one to miss; very watery and has no flavour. However, my wife had a lamb curry which was OK.

We were revisiting the area and decided to have eat at The White Horse on a Friday evening . They accommodated us at short notice and we were not disappointed . Food superb , selection of drinks superb , service superb , atmosphere brilliant and...all staff efficient , professional and friendly . We agreed given our experience that we'd eat there again on Saturday evening and yet again we weren't disappointed . Excellent choice on the menu and all served piping hot and quality extremely good . They looked after us brilliantly so we booked for Sunday lunch ! The sirloin of beef was the best we've had plus the crispy roast potatoes were actually crispy ! The biggest Yorkie ever plus great selection of vegetables . We recommend 💯. Thank you everyone at The White Horse and please, please don't change as the consistency is spot on . We'll be back next time we're in the area .More
