We had lunch in this lovely little country pub. Excellent service and menu. As well as typical pub food they offer a good selection of specials. My husband had his favourite fish and chips which was a good sized portion of fish. Well presented and tasty. I chose Sea Bass with samphire from the specials. Beautifully cooked and delicious. Usual... More

We stopped here for lunch after walking through the New Forest. This is not your typical pub. The food is very nice, but more expensive than i was expecting. The inside is nice, clean and elegant and the garden outside is great on a sunny day.

I used this pub 20 years ago when I lived in Hampshire and it was always a favourite. Decided to see what it was like this Easter break, the pub itself hadn't really changed and was still cosy and full of character. The food however was ok but expensive, we had steak sandwiches, I was asked how I would like... More

Stopped here for lunch whilst out walking, and as it was a lovely sunny day, sat outside. Including the specials board, there was a very good choice on the menu, and the standard of food was excellent. My wife had plaice from the main lunch menu, whist I had lamb rump from the specials board, and we had seasonal greens... More

We were recommended this pub by a friend. It really is a great place to visit if you like good quality food. Dogs are welcome, which was important to us. Not a lot of parking so many cars parked on the verge. There are tables for outside eating. The inside of the pub has recently been refurbished. It is cosy... More

On arrival we approached the bar but were not greeted although seen by the staff. Eventually I said hello and asked about our booking for 2pm, to be told the table was not ready. We were then stood at the bar for 25 minutes. They did offer us a drink, but again ignored my request to set up a tab.... More

One of the nicest pubs in the New Forest. Small cosy bar. Ok outside seating but no garden. Gets very busy at weekends. Food is good pub grub. Portions aren't massive and it's pricey. 2 courses for children about £7.50. Crab salad starter £8.50. Burger £13.50 and fish n chips £14.50. Large glass of rose £7!

Table reserved for two for early dinner (two sittings, it is so popular). Friendly welcome and excellent service. The Specials menu plus general menu gave wide selection and mouth watering options. We opted for the Grilled Plaice which was served with an additional plate for the fish bones and hand wipe - impressive and important as can be a tricky... More
