Apparently this is the oldest pub in the area, but definitely lacking atmosphere. Inwanted to know the history etc... they looked at me like I was mad. I feel they could make much more of this.

This was an unplanned visit on the back of a recommendation from a friend, great food and friendly staff but you need to book. Reasonably priced and a good variety but unlike most carvery's everything is fresh and replenished without running out. I would recommend The Mailman Arms and would definitely return.

Went here for Sunday carvery with some friends. Had a drink here many times over the years and always been pleasant enough . Carvery meat and veg was really nice , beef a little tough but all in all very satisfactory lunch . And would say we'd be back but the staff and owners are so miserable looking , and... More

We had a lovely day out in beaulieu motor museum and fancied a carvery we used the TripAdvisor app to find a good one nearby. We have to admit it was gorgeous food and a lovely local pub. You need to park in the village car park and will need to pay to park. The mailmans was really friendly and... More

This is a Pub more for locals. It was ok and nothing wrong but for an evening drink not for me this time of the year when you really have to drink inside. When weather warmer and can drink outside this is good place to go.

Back in Lyndhurst and back for lunch in the Mailmans. How could I not? Food as always, is excellent and the family who run it are lovely. A real jewel in Lyndhurst's crown.

We'd heard good reviews about the roast offered at this pub so gave it a try. I think our mistake was going later in the afternoon, 430, as the carvery was closed shortly after we were served. The range of meat and vegetables was excellent but the potatoes were not fresh, having presumably sat there for some time they were... More

Able to prebook - hardworking friendly staff - thanks for a tip top experience... More

No bad food and really well priced. A Calvery roast for 3 adults and a child with a jug of Pimms for £43. Reall not bad at all. They are not mean on the meat too. The server was happy to give me some of all the meats on offer. Veg was good and service was fine too.
