Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I visited this venue last week whilst on a two night break in the New foest and was taking a look around Lyndhurst. The menu was good and varied, we had the sausages with marmalade and onions with a hot chocolate drink. Service was nice and quick and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful, prices very good too as to what we are used to in london, would recommend this place and would definately visit again when in the area.

Have visited the Greenwood on a few occasions recently for breakfast at weekends. Staff are very efficient at carrying out Covid tiles and you are shown to your table in a polite and efficient manner. It is not the cheapest breakfast in the area but it is of a good standard and substantial with locally produce used on the breakfast. My only gripe would be that they do not have an area free of dogs as you are surrounded by dogs wherever you sit. Still worth a visit.

After setting off from Hertfordshire at 5:30AM, we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the Cafe at 8AM to find that we could sit and chat to the owner until the kitchen was ready to serve food at 8:30. When the food was served it was very enjoyable and just what we needed for the next leg of our journey down to the south coast. Staff are a credit to the business and the level of service and hygiene is exceptional. We even stopped here for lunch on our return journey. Rob, great Cafe sir and I hope you finish your outside bar!

Located near the bottom of the village, this bright open cafe has a friendly welcome with hand sanitiser on way in. Had a breakfast sandwich, cream tea & kids sausage & fish fingers. Food was mixed- Kids food was great, breakfast sandwich tasty but bread fell apart & scones were stodgy.

This restaurant looked very inviting so we decided to give it a try and we weren't dissappointed . The staff are so friendly and attentive . I ordered a tuna mayo sandwich which was on a baquette served with salad with a lovely dressing . My husband had a BLT with at least 3 rashers of bacon ,this was also on a baquette although a choice of bread was offered ....it was a good job my husband was hungry as this sandwich was huge . The tea was excellent freshly made and hot . The interior of The Greenwood Tree is really lovely ...very high ceilings and good decor as well as being very clean .

My wife and I are staying in the New Forest for a few days, and fancied having a picnic. Looking for a sandwich shop that sadly is no longer on the high street, I came across this wonderful place, and saw that they did takeaway cream teas. I ordered two, one with fruit scones and one with plain ones. They came very well presented, in a little cardboard box, and even had a disposable knife for the jam and cream. Each order comprises two very large, very delicious light and fluffy scones, two little pots of jam, and a decent size tub of clotted cream; all for £5.50 (which is very reasonable for the New Forest!) So if you fancy something a little different for you New Forest picnic, I would highly recommend visiting this place.

We visited today and I was very impressed with the standard of Covid cleanliness. From the sanitation station to the socially distanced tables and the use of an app to track and trace. The staff were all wearing masks or visors and the food and drinks were placed at the edge of the table to maintain distancing. There was a wide choice of food on the menu with plenty of choice for those with food allergies and vegetarians. The food quality was excellent and we really enjoyed it. I’ll certainly be back soon and highly recommend 😄

We walked in half an hour before closing on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted like old friends. The service was amazing and the staff friendly. The cream tea itself was fantastic with huge fresh scones that melt in your mouth! And if you don’t have time to stop, they do take away too!

We had a varied selection for breakfast, Full English and Vegetarian Full English, soup of the day, tuna melt and carrot cake. All were good, especially the cake. At about £9 for a Full English it wasn't cheap but is approximately the going rate for the town. Tea and coffee were £2+, this is fine in itself but seems pricey when added on to price of breakfast. One minor opportunity for improvement would be to use local butter (rather than Irish).

Along Lyndhurst High Street even in the winter you’re spoilt for choice if looking for a coffee shop, cafe or restaurant. At the time of our visit in early February, staff were still Covid conscious and requested we hand sanitised and wait to be seated. The menus are quite extensive and there’s a specials board as well. Service was quick (table service) and we opted for hot drinks plus cake/cream tea. My wife asked for a half shot latte but it was still a bit too strong for her but other than that everything was fine. Staff were friendly and attentive.

We were driving through the area, and wanted to stop for lunch. We stumbled across this cafe/restaurant. We all ordered cooked breakfasts and were very pleased with the food and drinks. The kids ate everything and enjoyed it too. The atmosphere was relaxed and modern. Service was excellent. The choice of food was quite extensive so we had all were able to select food we wanted. Would definitely revisit if back in the area.

Lovely sandwiches on both days we bought them. Lots of fillings and nicely presented. The child's menu is good too with cookie and piece of fruit included. The online ordering works well too.

Called in on way back from Winters walk at high Cliff. The staff were welcoming with lots of home baked treats to tempt you on a chilly afternoon. The whole village is worth visiting with lots of independent shops and I thought parking was reasonable at £2 for two hours in short stay.

As a family group we often visit this friendly restaurant. We are always made to feel very welcome. Their service is prompt, and excellent. We go for Sunday breakfast and I personally enjoy their Traditional Breakfast which I have with their Stress Buster Smoothie. Great! It is a very clean restaurant with a pleasant ambience. They also serve lunches and afternoon teas. Their cakes, scones and other pastries are very tempting! It is always a pleasant experience to eat there.

We visited The Greenwood Tree twice on our holiday; the first time was so impressive that we knew it was somewhere to get good food and hot drinks after a long walk in the rain. We had coronation chicken ciabatta (plenty of tasty filling, nice little side salad) and vegan dirty fries (spicy, packed with flavour) with a mocha and a tea. The second time we had hot food then a cream tea to share... delicious! Great veggie selection and vegan options on top of a large regular menu, good covid safe practices and the place is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!
