A chef myself in the company came late on Halloween with my family. Service was exceptional and food quality was best I’ve had from any premium country pub I’ve been to. Pork belly was still tender cook to perfection and not chewy which is the...More

We visited with 2 kids and our dog. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. I had king prawn and smoked bacon pasta, my daughter had muscles and Mum had lamb curry. It was all lovely and generous portions too. We'll be back...More

Went this afternoon for a drink whilst on a walk. We sat in the back garden that looked tired and could do with some attention. Didn’t really feel comfortable sitting out there and then my 9year old spotted fresh dog poo right next to our...More

Thank you for your very public comments. Considering the current climate & the need to support local pubs, a very unkind comment indeed. You mentioned this to us as you left on Sunday & we were most grateful for you pointing this out to us....More

We went as a family of 4 adults 15/8/2020, observing all CV19 protocol. We sat indoors and hand the back room to ourselves. Atmosphere was friendly and helpful, good beers, fizz and wines. The food was top class all four mains were excellent. I would...More

A damp day and it would have been nice to have seen a fire (lit as we were nearing the end of our lunch) as it wasn’t overly warm. Food took a while to arrive and overall disappointing, caramelised onion tarts not well cooked, steak...More

Ok so all in all good but a few points needs addressing. When a person orders a vegetarian roast you would expect it to come with veggie gravy and some sort of meat substitute rather than a plate of veggies = Fail With all the...More

Went for Sunday lunch with friends, one of whom had special needs. We were very well looked after, given a suitable table, and enjoyed some good roast pork along with lovely crackling and excellent veg. Afterwards, delicious sorbets. We all enjoyed it.

I had a birthday meal there with 7 other adults. The table was bench style so difficult to talk with everyone. A large round table would have been ideal. The roasts were mixed with the beef by far the worst. Tough and chewy beef spoilt...More

Went for a birthday lunch, they were pre-warned of 3 vegetarians (only 2 went in the end), and they were "out" of their only vegetarian option! They reluctantly and grumpily made 2 "king prawn pasta without the prawns" - but charged full price! 14.95 each...More
