Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small cafe for hot drinks, cakes or light meals. Easy to miss but accessible from the towpath - perfect for a break if you are walking. Very pleasant, especially if the weather allows you to sit out. Child and dog friendly.

Had lunch in the Sunnyside Cafe which is a small cafe in a garden centre on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead. Service is friendly and the quality of the food is reasonably good. We visited during the pandemic and had to sit outside. It was...actually a really hot day and we struggled to find somewhere to sit that was sufficiently shaded. Service was a little slow.More

Having just picked up a campervan rental in the street nearby we thought we would have lunch before we started on our way. How lucky we were to find this place! It is dog friendly, vegan friendly, and serves delicious food. The portions were huge...and price reasonable. Staff were charming and there is plenty of choice for lunch. (Soup , sandwiches, cakes, baked potatoes plus other things) and great coffee. We liked it so much we returned for lunch on the day we brought the campervan back. luckily for us the sun was shining both times as seating is outside. (this maybe just due to covid)More

Lovely food ,the beetroot soup was great and the jacket potatoes came with a lovely salad . The staff are friendly and helpful . The added value is a small garden center and a shop selling gree range and organic food.

What a smashing little place and such a brilliant ethos around learning disabilities. I enjoyed a fab jacket potato with interesting salads and my husband loved his beetroot soup. We then got 15 plants for £10. What a bargain. Just about to plant them now....A must visit if you haven't been. Car park and can access from canal towpath. Easy peasy!More

Walk along the canal with dogs and then stop off at this lovely cafe for coffee and breakfast or a snack. Great range of eco friendly products in the farm shop. Lots of attentive staff and lovely vegan brownie and latte. Definitely worth a visit...or two.More

We bought some Begonia plants about 3 months ago. They have been fantastic, best flowering plants we have ever bought. They just keep going on and on and are still looking beautiful today! We have also been very pleased with some other plants we have...bought here and will definitely come back again!More

A real gem, coffee and cake were delicious and to think I didn’t know about this hidden secret....... I will definitely be back, along with bringing friends and family so that they too can experience such a delightful place. Looking forward to seeing the plants...in full and hopefully being able to purchase some to help with more SMILES at the SUNNYSIDE UP retreat. Thank youMore

Thank you Joyce. Although the cafe is closed at the moment due to the C19 situation we hope you will return when we are able to open again. Stay well. Thank you

I like to call in here when I'm walking into Hemel along the Canal. Access is easy. There is a spacious area for seating indoors, though I generally sit outside to enjoy the birds song. I'm a vegetarian (not vegan) and I particularly like their...cheese and onion sandwich that comes with a generous portion of salad and crisps. It's made from a wonderfully fresh and tasty wholemeal bread and with aged Cheddar cheese. Excellent tea too. Everything is clean and tidy and attentive service is assured. Thew staff are very friendly. Strongly recommended. I applaud the work that they do to help adults with learning difficulties. Do give it a try.More

So sorry have not been paying attention to Tripadvisor. There is a car park next to our site behind the K2 restaurant. Thanks
