Called in for lunch while on a caravanning holiday in Pembridge and we were not disappointed.
We were given a warm welcome and were given their Covid briefing and were happy all guidelines were being followed.
We were given a table and ordered drinks and given a menu, a simple varied menu at very reasonable prices.We had beef lasagne with home cooked chips and salad and it was exceptional,followed by caramel apple pie and custard also excellant.
The lady that served us was on her own in the bar and never once got flustered and spoke to everyone in a really nice friendly manner.
Highly recommended.

Not knowing the area we called in to The White Lion on Saturday 26.09.2020 having read the other reviews on Trip Advisor and were so glad we chose this pub, it's fantastic and the food is excellent
We had no problem making our booking over the 'phone and, on arrival were greeted with a cheery smile and a warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar who looked after us throughout the evening, taking our order and serving our food and she was/is a credit to the owners. The Covid controls at The White Lion are first class and we felt extremely safe including the track and trace arrangements and the disposable menus that were still to a high quality
The place looks like it has been recently decorated or, if not, it is kept impeccably clean and tidy and has a lovely fresh feel to it. We were sat in the dining area to the left of the bar and, although we were the only ones in that side of the premises the pub has a nice buzz to it and we didn't felt isolated and were certainly not forgotten by our attentive and very courteous waitress who took our orders after a short wait
We went for two of the 8oz steak burgers (one with Bacon and Cheese, and one with just Cheese), which used very high quality meat and were extremely well cooked and a BBQ Chicken (a little like a Hunter's Chicken) and, I have to say, the chunky chips that came with the burgers were exceptional, light, fluffy and yet still crispy, and very tasty (so nice, in fact, that one of our party, who prefers skinny, french, fries to chunky chips commented that she thought they were really nice) and the couple of onion rings served as an accompaniment were superb and, I would say, the best I've ever had
The cost was very reasonable too, coming in, with a round of drinks, at just over £10 a head which is very good value, especially for this quality
Our visit to The White Lion was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and the team there should be proud of what they're offering. It's not the easiest place to find so a SatNav helps but, if you're reading this and trying to find a place to visit, I would have no hesitation in recommending you go here, we will certainly be back when we're next in the area

We travelled via Leominster and stopped by here to have lunch. We ordered the homemade lasagna and it was absolutely delicious! My daughter, which is seven years old, has eaten the whole big portion brought to us and said it was the best lasagna she has had. Not only fresh ingredients but also cooked with taste and well presented. Also the atmosphere in the pub was very friendly and the landlord and landlady were very welcoming and making everyone feel part of the community. We will definitely return if we will pass by again!

Following good previous visits we checked with the The White Lion what they were doing for New Years Eve - they confirmed the normal menu was available and that a DJ would be present. We booked for 6.30 as they said this was the only table available. Again upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and attentive, our order was taken quite quickly and the starter arrived shortly afterwards. When the main course arrived they looked well below the standard we had experienced previously. My wife's chicken was quite black from the griddle, albeit not overcooked but my burger was dry and overcooked. The presentation of my wifes plate was poor (coleslaw just piled on the plate not in a separate dish). When the waitress came to clear the table we asked about the DJ and she said he was booked for 6.00pm, it was now 7.30pm! Other people asked about the DJ but based on the respone the pub stated to empty. We left at 7.45pm and there were very few people in the bar. It was very disappointing based on previous visits and we could in fact have gone elsewhere for a meal, possibly at less cost, we only went because we were led to beleive there would be entertainment. On previous visits the proprietors were present and made every effort to speak to you, we did not see them at all whilst we were there on New Years Eve! We did post a review directly to the White Lion's website on 2 January, to date it has not appeared and we have had no feedback, maybe its because it was a less than positve/complimentary review.

We travelled up to visit a nearby tree specialist on Wednesday lunchtime 15th January and were looking for coffee or a meal before making the two hour return journey. The member of staff I think it was Nina a lady in a green dress and lovely hair made us welcome with coffee and a lovely log fire. She mentioned the food and so we went into the restaurant, impressive lunch menu and specials all cooked fresh. We had Thai green curry and a liver and bacon all lovely and the steaks at the other table looked wonderful. Good prices and good beer. Why can’t other pubs get it right like this one. The service was excellent by this lady, nothing was too much trouble and despite being busy she ran the whole service, the other bar and answered the phone for bookings. and even came to say goodbye. I am retired from the trade but if I still had restaurants I would offer her a job to train my staff.

We found this pub by chance when visiting the area on a wet day. And what a find it was. It was packed when we walked in to see if we could get lunch and the staff asked us to wait five minutes when a table should be available. We huddled round a wonderful open fire and before very long were shown to a table by friendly landlady and looked at the menu. This was 'pub food' at its best and extremely reasonably priced and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The landlord was most helpful when one member of our party of four, asked about the cider, bringing her two tasters to see which she preferred. They obviously work very hard to make it attractive both to locals and visitors and we thoroughly recommend them.

My husband called to the White Lion on his way home from work and ordered some of their homemade chips to take away. They were the best chips around. My son nearly ate the lot to himself. Will definately be back for more.

I visited this place for a family meal, staff are very friendly there's a park for the children great prices on both food and drinks, and best Sunday lunch I have ever had in my life will definitely be returning. Was definitely worth the drive from worcester. Compliments to the chef and all the staff your doing an amazing job.

Called in today for lunch, it was fairly late and we were immediately advised that we would have a wait of 45 minutes. Having read the excellent reviews of this establishment decided that was not a problem. Football was on - we are not fans and were invited into the restaurant a football free zone. The whole place is spotless, the welcome was so warm, amazing people. Menu simple and creative, loved the simplicity of it. Meals were presented beautifully if I have one critism the bread on my prawn cocktail had far too much spread for my taste, butter portions would give a diner the choice. You guys have got it nailed look forward to visiting you again thank you

My husband and I had lunch at The White Lion in Leominster on 21 April to celebrate my birthday. We received a great welcome by the young ladies in the bar and shown to a table which would accommodate us and our little dachshund who received his very own doggy sausage. The food was good and I would even say the Chocolate Fudge Cake was one of the best I've eaten, very light and fluffy and very chocolatey. We were attended by Kyra and another young waitress who were both excellent and ensured that we had a good experience. The food was reasonably priced which, in today's climate, was very welcome - some other establishments seem to be hiking up their prices to such a level that it is becoming extremely hard to find somewhere that provides value for money - the White Lion is a refreshing change.

Our family stopped here for a lunch before returning home after our holiday.
The food was fabulous. It was reasonably priced, well cooked and good sized portions.
The pub was Covid safe and very clean.
The menu offered lots of choice plus additional specials.
On this occasion the service was a little slow as the pub was busy but the food was well worth waiting for. Thank you.

What a lovely friendly welcoming pub this little gem is.. We stumbled across here by accident as where we had plannned to go to stopped serving food at 2.30, and we weren't due to be away from where we were nearby till 5...
There was 6 adults and 2 children, the first thing we ( ok the kids noticed ) was the anazing play area here, ideal for keeping the kids quiet whilst awaiting their food .
The menu had a good varied choice of food with a extra listing of specials... The young lady at front of house on our visit was brilliant, it was like we had known her for years.
All eight of our meals were a delight and we all commented on the exceptional size of each of the courses and how lovely the meals were, value for money it was like going back in time especially compared to the price back in Essex ...
Would highly recommend The White Lion, and if ever back in the area will DEFINITELY come back here.

What more can you say about a family run local other than it was wonderful to go back there on the first day of opening after the lockdown.
Having had snow first thing in the morning, it appeared that our long awaited visit would be doomed but, oh no! The sun came out and hubby and I, along with a few others braved the garden to eat, drink and, definitely, be merry. Such was the joy to be outside, it mattered not that the clouds came and went. In saying that, whilst we were there it was gloriously sunny.
Nina and Lars were doing what they do best in serving good food, well priced with excellent service and taking the time to welcome everyone back and chatting to all who where there to enjoy their much loved local.
Keep it up you two, you are just the greatest. We are lucky to live close by.

The White Lion is a quaint public house, with a separate bar and restaurant area and a central island style bar. The welcome was really friendly and we were sitted safely in the restaurant after sanitising our hands on the way through. Staff wore masks and screens were in place arou ND the bar. Tables were well spaced.
The menu and especially the specials board was well stocked. Having seen the burger on social media I already knew what I wanted to eat. My daughter had lasagne and my wife was tempted by the freshly made Hungarian Goulash made by Las earlier in the day (our host).
The food did not disappoint at all, it was fantastic. The burger was light and juicy, excellent light onion rings and fresh salad with great chips. The lasagne was great too but the star of the show was definitely the goulash. You know when you look forward to something and then you see what you wife has and wished you'd ordered that? The goulash was exactly that kind of meal. We had no room for desert so safely paid and left having had a super meal. We'd definitely go back, excellent service, food and hospitality.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and was so surprised at what the enterprising owners have done. It is no wonder that this is now so popular. We were served surprisingly soon by a most charming young lady with a smile so big it made my day! The meal was very nicely laid out with more than adequate veggies, sauces etc. All in all very good. A very good atmosphere, very professional head of house (owner) who asked all guests if all was well giving time even though rushed off her feet! Outside photos give you the idea of what a friendly family oriented place it is.
