Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful garden centre with a warm family atmosphere. The homemade cakes are so delicious - especially the coconut cake which is my favourite. The Potting Shed café staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are plants, shrubs, herbs and fruit trees to buy. A...nice selection of fresh fruit and veg to buy as you leave. There are a couple of delightful Rheas which trot about happily. This is not your pressured corporate garden centre, it is small but has an echo of times gone by - calm and you take your time.More

Terrible place. Can’t seem to handle a typical day. Ended up waiting 15 just to be served. Wouldn’t mind but they were not busy. Just unorganised. Do not go if your in a rush. Would hate to see what this place is like when busy.More

Cracking time having a potter and then a lovely lunch all cooked to perfection!. Our Beagle barked the place down but the other two dogs seemed to not cause such a scene.. Everyone was friendly and accommodating would highly recommend.

I’m a Coeliac and I was very pleased that the lady serving me knew what parts of the breakfast I couldn’t have. I was offered extra portions of the items I could eat. I really enjoyed my breakfast. Normally we go for lunch here regularly...but today decided to try the breakfast we were no disappointed. Staff are extremely friendly. I totally recommend.More

Only ones in the cafe at 9.30, order was taken quickly and politely. We were surprised to find that they don’t actually do any breakfast food of any sort. Menu was lunch only really, despite opening up at 9.30. We both opted for cheesy beans...on toast. Looked good but was stone cold! The waitress was very apologetic and immediately ordered them again. Second attempt was slightly better barely warm but edible. The waitress was again apologetic and only charged for one meal. She looked as though this was a daily occurrence and asked us to please mention it to the owner on the way out. He wasn’t around so couldn’t Needless to say we won’t be back for breakfast againMore

Went here with my sister for breakfast today and was disappointed to find there is no breakfast menu on offer. It opens at 9am for goodness sake. Decided to go for the cheesy beans on toast as it was the closest item that resembled a...breakfast item. The first lot came out practically stone cold. The lady did apologize and removed the plates immediately to replace with freshly cooked ones. However the next lot came out only slightly warmer. By the time we’d had a couple of mouthfuls it was getting inedible. The fact that they put fridge cold pre packed grated cheese on the tops of the beans doesn’t help. The bread was nice though. We did only get charged for one meal however £4.70 for tepid beans on toast is a bit steep. Maybe they’re cutting down on their energy bills by not leaving the microwave on long enough to actually heat the beans.More

The outdoor area is lovely, surrounded by all the plants from the garden center. There is also an orangery for less sunny days. The staff was lovely and the sandwiches made to order were really nice. Menu is a bit limited but worth it

Although quite a small cafe with limited menu, this place can hold its own against some of the larger eating places you find in the chain garden centres. Service is friendly and efficient. Most items on the menu seem to be made to order. We...had a couple of toasted sandwiches, which were tasty and nicely presented. My wife was impressed that they knew how to make “proper” iced-coffee. All in all a good place for a light lunch or a snack. Reasonably priced as well. There appeared to be two indoor seating areas and also some tables set up outside amongst the plants. There is also a small farm shop on site, where we bought some fresh veg.More

As well as the café, they have a great little garden centre with fresh produce too.More
