Rather tired looking country pub that has seen better days. Refused to take credit card which seems odd in the day unless you reach a certain spend limit that they tell you about after you’ve ordered. Couldn’t order bar food on the menu as there’s...a Sunday rule that you have to order a full meal, even though it was 3pm and pretty empty- needs to be a bit more customer focused !More

I think you might have the wrong pub here? We renovated inside and out during Lockdown 1 and the pub is looking fabulous! Of course it's old .. its 500 years old.. so not exactly a new built 🤔 We don't refuse credit card payments...More

Visiting the area for a few days . We went to the Three Horseshoes on Friday 24th September and Sunday the 26th with our dog . We were made to feel so welcome and the staff were very friendly and appeared to enjoy their work...and meeting people. The pub was lovely with a good atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious. We had mains from the menu Friday and Sunday roast on the 26th. My husband had a dessert and I had coffee. We wish we lived near as this would definitely be somewhere we would frequent. Thanks you for everything we would strongly recommend you without hesitation.More

We had our first visit to the three horseshoes tonight and I have to say it definitely won’t be our last! We wanted somewhere that felt cozy and traditional but with good food and I have to say it’s the best food we’ve ever had...in a pub! Real hearty food, cooked to perfection, big portions and the prices are so reasonable! The owners are such lovely people who really made us feel welcome. The service was just brilliant! Whether you’re a couple or you’re looking for place that’s away from everything, with great scenery and lots of land for kids to run around outside then it’s definitely a must visit.More

If you want a proper country pub that serves great food & has owners that really care about their local punters then come here. We moved to the area in December and would choose this over anywhere to eat, especially with the lovely garden which...is dog/child friendly - thanks Mick & Sandra you legends! Paul, Bec & RemyMore

Visited with 2 friends for Sunday lunch. Good food, huge portions, efficiently served by cheerful staff. All Covid precautions carefully observed. Dined in a well-ventilated and comfortable permanent marquee. Numerous tables outside.

We had stumbled across this Pub whilst waiting for visitors from the airport a couple of years ago. Halfway between two family homes (both tier 2's at the time). As we were unable to meet in our houses for a pre-christmas lunch (present exchange) Takeley...is half way. Made an email table booking (confirmed in a couple of hours). All necessary covid restaurant/venue requirements were well covered and we felt very safe and secure. We were made to feel very welcome. Service was very good and the food was cooked fresh (2 house burgers, a ham/egg/chips and mushroom/cheese tart and salad), with drinks approx £30 per couple ( 2 couples). Recommended and will visit again when passing.More

We tried a weekday lunch here and were impressed so thought we would try the Sunday roast as well. Choices included beef, chicken, gammon or all three but we decided on turkey with all the trimmings. No problems with describing this as a substantial meal...to justify my glass of wine! Delicious, perfectly cooked food served in a warm and friendly traditional pub; the perfect Sunday treat. Already booked for next weekMore

I would expect to pay between £10 & £15 max each way, as it's appropriately 7 miles away. Ask reception 1st to call for a quote.

Hi, yes it's between £10-£12 I'm afraid! Extortionate prices but unfortunately it's because you're near the airport. Hope to see you soon Kind Regards Mick & Sandra 01279 870313
