Lovely building, OK beer, vile food, surly staff, next to surprisingly noisy road. Interesting and friendly locals in for a few pints, many of them anglers, with friendly dogs. Go for a pint but do not eat here!

Stopped off here for an impromptu meal one night. Ordered and paid then got told that this meal was no longer available. Tried an alternative. That not available either. Third choice was home made chilli which turned out to be pretty good. Beer was ok. Seemed like a popular place for the locals.

A good choice of real ales and a nice outside area but the woman who served us was just not pleasant - so we didn't stay to eat - the food didn't look that appealing anyhow.

We ate in the garden. The bar was not very welcoming. We were only after a light lunch so ordered baguettes. The food was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. It is a very dog friendly pub and dog walkers have certainly a lovely garden to enjoy here but we don't have a dog so felt a bit out... More

We went for a meal on Bank Holiday. The beer and food was excellent. We especially liked the pizza from the oven outside.

I love this pub, it's dog friendly right next to the canal so perfect after a walk. It has a real local feel about it and the locals that Drink there are all really friendly. Sunday roast is good. Only not so great meal I've had there was the plough mans salad, I left still hungry which is a shame... More

Visited here for the first time today Sunday 14th May with our 2 grandchildren, all plates where good portions and there was nothing left we thoroughly enjoyed a roast beef dinner, vegetable lasagna and 2 chicken nuggets for the children. We would of loved an ice cream maybe something to think about in the future. It felt very relaxed with... More

We dropped in with our son, daughter in law and the two grandchildren for a late lunch and had a great meal. The grandchildren took delight in showing us the ducks and birds in the aviary and particularly Rosie the parrot. A very friendly well run pub. We'll be going again.
