We stopped here quite by chance: hikers looking for a drink on a hot sunny day. We were sweaty, badly dressed, and felt that it was unlikely that we would get a warm welcome in this opulent setting. We couldn't have been more wrong. The staff were fantastic, and made us feel quite relaxed. They showed us round the hotel... More

Fabulous food, service and ambience. Highly recommended. We stay next door. We, three generations 71-17, enjoyed our first summer dinner. The food was very good, we were looked after promptly and with good cheer. The wine was fairly priced. We enjoyed coffee later in the splendid drawing room. Peter B

As mentioned in our review of the Priory Hotel, this was an excellent place for dining with a tasty menu.

The quality of food and service changes like the wind. If you are not bothered by either, have shed loads of money, do go, it's in a rather glorious setting.

We had the most enjoyable experience at the Island Room Restaurant at Priory Bay Hotel. In delightful surroundings inside and out, my fiancee' and I were treated to the most splendid service and gastronomically excellent food and wine. Both the restaurant and surrounding gardens and sea views added to this enchanting evening. We highly recommend Priory Bay to anyone wishing... More

Faded grandeur was out first impression however it's obvious the upkeep of this lovely house is much to expensive to maintain. The food overall is very good with delicious roast chicken and fish dishes. The service not so. The main restaurant was so noisy with unruly children we asked to be moved. This was no problem and we had a... More

Basil, Cybil, Manuel and Polly could not have made this more chaotic!! Such a shame as this is a stunning venue but, alas such priceless service killed our first impression. For example "How is the Hake Cooked?" - response from Waitress "It is Hand Dried" err don't you mean pan fried? "What local beers do you have?" Response from Waitress... More

We had a terrible Sunday lunch experience on 26 July. We had booked Sunday Lunch for 4 at 1330, travelling from the mainland for an appointment in Cowes later that day. We were late arriving due to ferry delays but had telephoned the hotel with our revised arrival time. We had experienced a delightful sandwich lunch on the terrace in... More

This venue did not live up to its reputation. Our evening meal was edible but mediocre, did not like being told the raw middle of the breakfast sausage was cooked!! Service was poor .
