Unfortunately the tea room closed down last year. So we were a little disappointed, although the lady in the shop was lovely and it was still good to browse the antiques but no tea and cake.

Antiques downstairs with a tea room upstairs (with a couple of tables outside) makes for an interesting combination. The friendly and helpful staff cleared and cleaned the table before we were allowed to sit down. A good choice of drinks and snacks and the service...was prompt and attentive. Good value for money. A good place to sit outside in the sun and enjoy your coffee (or whatever you have).More

Why go to Costa up the road when you can go to this truly local coffee shop with antiques where you are as welcome whether you want breakfast lunch or just a cup of coffee.

We found the Waterloo House Tearooms purely by chance, I'm a fussy eater, mainly due to being lactose intolerant, but there were sooooooo many choices, including the cakes, as most the key ingredients had vegan alternatives!! Staff were attentive & proud of how their food...was locally sourced & cakes were made in house, so they knew exactly what went in them! My mum was happy with her food & I was over the moon with mine!! The vegan pesto was delicious, I could add ingredients into my sandwich (& did) with no fuss on their part!! Service was the best I've had in a long time!! But I've saved the best til last........ the best smoothie I think I've ever had....... Coco Loco!! 😍😍 I think I'll happily drive the hour each way again just for their smoothie & with free parking practically across the road, a visit couldn't be much easier!!! Seriously, I wish this place was closer, I'd be there every weekend!! 😍😍More

Charlie and her lovely team were able to accommodate us for a small family get together. The food looked and tasted wonderful. There was so much of it we all took a box home. We loved the setting and how charlie was able to make...it personal to our family. We would all recommend the afternoon tea, even the children who had so much fun! Thank you Waterloo tea room. It was truely a beautiful afternoon.More

This is, far and away, the best cafe in Cranbrook and for miles around. Top quality ingredients, sourced from local farms and businesses, lovingly prepared and presented by the charming Charlie and her charming staff, in the charming environs of the cafe-come-bric-a-brac shop. Once this...Lockdown nonsense is over, I will be rushing back to support this fantastic local business, and I strongly recommend you to do the same. People like Charlie, doing things brilliantly and differently to the boring, corporate or franchised cafes need and deserve our support - Give it!!More

What a fantastic find. Stopped to have breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. Reasonable price and amazing service can’t wait to come back for afternoon tea.

Called in yesterday afternoon for a drink. Wonderful little gem of a place. Scones baked fresh, sandwiches made to order. Friendly helpful staff. Laid out well complying to Covid restrictions. Will use again.

I go to the tea rooms quite often now. I couldn’t think of a better place to recommend in cranbrook! The people are wonderful and the food is as FRESH as it can get. One of my favourite dishes from there is the salmon, avocado,...scrambled egg on granary bread and without fail. Every. Single. Time it is PERFECT. It’s all fresh food ! There are some good people that work in there, the staff are keen workers, always serving with a smile and I admire that! And the chef.. to which I’m certain that if you ask POLITELY she will always go that extra mile for you. We can’t say that’s not good customer service It disappoints me to read or hear of other negative (some untrue) comments about this place, where the staff put the customers at the heart of everything they do. Everyone has different levels of “perfect” and well, when you live on cloud nine it’s going to be hard to please. I love this place and I can not wait to return.More

This is a lovely tearoom. The coffee was good, not lukewarm like a lot of other places. The cake was amazing. The staff were all attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back and can recommend it to others.

This is a very interesting "tearoom" combining antiques and snacks and drinks. Putting the antiques on one side the "tearoom" side itself is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful and the setting unique. I only had an early morning coffee but the breakfast...choice was good. There was a good selection of snacks and meals on the menu and Gluten Free and Vegetarian options are available.More

Highly recommended. Met a friend & had a pot of tea with a delicious scone complete with cream & jam. Very well looked after. Will be back.....

Great food, lovely staff. 10/10 recommend. Definitely be back here. Thank you for a great visit, not been in such a lovely cafe for a long time.

I have recently moved into the area and my mum and I decided to have a look around Cranbrook, and grab some lunch. We wandered up and down the high street and decided to pick The Waterloo House Tearooms and it looked cute and cosy....We walked in and we’re greeted with a smile and were offered any seat we liked. We sat down and ordered our drinks which came out immediately. I was very happy to see a vegetarian all day breakfast option with vegetarian sausages as I usually end up having to order a normal breakfast with no meat. Food was delicious and we even had a fruit scone with jam and cream after too! I will certainly be revisiting and I am glad to know I have a nice cafe nearby.More

Visited here again today with another friend. I suggested the venue as I can guarantee not to be disappointed. I wasn't & she loved it! Coffee excellent , as ever with good choice & it came with a little gingerbread man biscuit. Attentive staff. The...place continues to woo friends when I take them due to its welcoming atmosphere, the location, the standard of food & drink & the unhurried atmosphere. It also houses an antiques area. This continues to be my number 1 venue when visiting Cranbrook!More
