When attempting to find some night accommodation near Bodiam Castle, with every place in the area being full that Saturday July 30th, we finished at Cranbrook in Kent at the very last Pub around. The receptionist at the White Horse, in spite of a bar full of celebrating patrons, found time to show us a spacious en suite on the... More

Not what we were expecting. Lack of heating and poor choice of food. Will not be going back I'm afraid.

Popped into the white horse for breakfast the lady behind the bar was lovely and helpful the breakfast was tasty hot when served. Only thing wrong with the pub it needs updating bit too dull but the staff make up for it. If the owners read this please update the pub make it beautiful. And we will be back.

The pub room itself isn't the most attractive place (it seemed too dark to me, and without that quaint "village pub" atmosphere of, say, the nearby pub at the "George Hotel". However, the beer garden at the back more than compensated for this little shortcoming, and provide a nice and... More

Sorry not impressed. A beautiful town like Cranbrook deserves great pubs. Sadly this isn't really it. No one was rude or unpleasant it just didn't inspire, make you feel comfortable or welcomed.

Went here with 14 from my walking group. As a chain pub it was mediocre. Barman was on his own and coped well with serving the drinks. Then we ordered the food. I was the last to order and got my food first, admittedly it was only a steak baguette and chips. It came with a very small, very tired... More

Visited recently as a party of 4 adults and 2 children, and although I wasn't expecting gourmet delights from a chain pub, it made Wetherspoons' food look like The Ivy! The one saving grace was a very friendly young barman, who was clearly worrying about the ridiculous length of time out food took, as he apologised a few times and... More
