What a lovely little restaurant. It looks like a cafe but inside has the vibes of a family restaurant. The food was good. I’m not sure I’d go back for the menu - it felt like the chef was trying to be super high end...but not quite there but I enjoyed it. The service was outstanding! Last Sunday I went for lunch at 81 Beach street and it was a most enjoyable experience, partly because of the food and partly because of the warmth and charm of the staff. I had the roast beef (as did my friend) and we both...agreed that it was delicious. I particularly liked the fact that the accompanying vegetables were served separately on a 'sharing platter' as I really don't like plates heaving and overflowing with food. I then had cheese cake which was OK but I really liked the ice cream (homemade, I think) which came with it. The staff were LOVELY...when I mentioned I was in Deal to visit a friend who was quite ill and in a wheelchair & how much he would have loved to have come to the restaurant for lunch. They couldn't have been nicer about it and, although they actually don't have wheelchair access, promised that all the staff would help to get him into the restaurant and look after him. Also they suggested times when the restaurant would not be too full so they could properly look after him. How nice! I will definitely go there again.More

The fact this place was busy on a mid-week lunch service in September tells you something about whether it's worth visiting. Being up the road from Dover I could hardly refuse Dover Sole, which was Catch of the Day and melt-in-your-mouth.

Had a lovely meal tonight, and staff were great even dealing with a very difficult customer who just wanted to cause a drama. We had mezze and crab to start and steak and chicken for main, with a lovely chocolate and peanut butter desert. As...usual can not fault it. Highly recommend.More

We enjoyed an excellent Roast Beef Sunday lunch, could not be faulted, exceptional quality at a great price. Staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Its difficult getting a decent Sunday Roast these days, 81 Beach Street does not disappoint.

8 of us, all seniors, siblings and spouses, went at the pre-booked time on Saturday 9 September and were very well treated and looked after. Long table in the bay window with lovely sea view and excellent staff who made sure, throughout our stay, that...everything was OK and even obliged with taking our group photos (and very good they turned out: thank you). We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, wine and ales and could not have wished for more. A really enjoyable occasion made so by very wonderful staff. Thank you.More

We are visiting friends in Deal and we decided to go here for dinner. We booked as about 7.30pm the restaurant was filing up and it was only a Tuesday. We decided to skip the starters and had the baked plaice with fennel salad and...a side of Italian vegetables. The fish also came with a potato cake. The meal was delicious and the time between the courses was just right. We enjoyed a blackcurrant pannacotta and lemon cheesecake between us. All in all a very enjoyable evening.More

Visited without a booking and luckily got a table on an early Friday evening The food was delicious, and such great value. Lovely Chapel Down wines too. The dessert included thyme flavoured ice cream which was amazing. Thank you for such a lovely meal on...our little trip to Kent.More

What a gem of a find! The most delicious food cooked to perfection and desserts to die for! The young staff…in particular Ben…were attentive and knowledgable….will certainly recommend to friends

This restaurant is ideally located in central Deal and we really enjoyed our evening there, the staff and food were both very good indeed.

Lovely meal at 81 Beach st , service was great and the staff were very friendly. My steak was lovely and my wife’s fish ( sea bass) was really nice .
