Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is always worth the wind swept approach and a very cold Q ! Given we are used to London we think the prices are more than reasonable. The full English is delicious!

Have been going there for quite a few years as it’s bright and clean with lovely views. I recently went there with my daughter and we both ordered Squash Rigatoni and paid an extra £6 each for crab. While we were eating i mentioned to...the waitress that the crab was missing. After going to speak to the chef she said it was in the sauce. I again mentioned it to another waitress as there definitely was no crab as we couldn’t see or taste it. She straight away said it was in the sauce and walked off. The sauce was watery with a few pumpkin seeds. We were very disappointed with the meal and the attitude of the staff.More

Made an impromptu visit, having walked down a very wind swept pier. Menu looked nice (but expensive) and ordered the eggs royale and crab rarebit. When the food arrived and I saw the crab rarebit, I was stunned by its appearance; one slice of toast...(£12.50) with a few lumps of crabmeat and cheese sauce which was charred (well burnt) and a side of fennel. My partner began eating the megre offering and said it was very bland. I also tried it. He said he could smell seafood, but not taste it. Bearing in mind crab has a strong flavour, we thought this unusual, not sure what cheese was used for the sauce but this was bland also. The funnel “salad” was so uncomplementing to the already awful dish we that couldn’t work out how whoever created it, thought this was something to be worthy of selling. When we raised this with the waitress, she just sort of shrugged. The eggs royale was below average too. Will not go back.More

Just paid a long overdue visit to the shack and had great food, coffee and service as ever. Add this to the view and is absolutely perfect.

Popped in for a coffee and ended up having lunch, which was very good. Having looked at the whole menu, we had to return for a breakfast. So worth it, I had the Lobster & Crayfish Benedict, it was fantastic. The restaurant is at the...end of the pier with lovely views of the land and sea. The staff were nice and attentive and the place had a good atmosphereMore

An upscale cafe situated right in the glassed-in end of the brutalist modernist Deal pier, above fishermen and with a lovely view to the sea and bench and normal seating. A limited and breakfast/brunch-orientated menu, a lot of egg options, but also a small kids’...menu. Atmosphere was nice, service fine, food was tasty but very expensive for what it was. The lobster roll in brioche was the size of a small Pasquier bag brioche roll, with about 1-2 tbsp of filling, and a small cup of French fries. All very tasty, but not £22 worth of food - a bigger portion of fries (so cheap to supply) and a small salad garnish would have gone a long way when the server brought it. And the children’s fish goujons and chips came with 2 small goujons. Again, tasty, but would recommend avoiding the seafood on the menu if you’re on a smaller budget… or just hungry!More

Booking was easy, the phone call a couple of days before to confirm and ask about allergies was nice.. They spoke to us about a set menu, and it seemed a lovely idea. With the upgrade to a house wine for only £10 we took...this option. Once we ordered we were given a complimentary pumpkin soup, this was lovely.. Starters were tasty.. could have eaten this as a main.. Ordered the 8oz steak medium rare, it was more like medium. Still tasted nice but not as we ordered. (We didn't say anything as my partner was happy to eat it) Chips were nice, as was the salad.. Lobster we felt was lacking seasoning and a bit chewy. Again we didn't say anything negative as my partner doesn't like to make a scene. I didn't like the crumble pudding I swapped with my partners pudding.. the custard was lukewarm. We would not do the set menu again. We paid £48 per person and only had 1 mediocre main course to share. The portion size as a sharing plate was small. I understand for some couple this would be enough. But a 4oz steak each and half lobster and 1 chips was not enough for us. We were basically sharing a main course with only enough food for 1 person.. We went home and cooked some more dinner. The service was lovely, the place nice and spacious.More

I went to the Deal Pier Restaurant to buy some cakes to take home, Jason served me and he was so helpful, he packaged my cakes well and even dug out a bag for me to take them home in, it makes all the difference...when people are nice and friendly. This review was mostly about the customer service.......but wow! .....the cakes were amazing too....I would definitely recommend this place.More

We had a fabulous time at the Surf and Turf evening, the food was absolutely amazing, all three courses were of the highest standard, the service was excellent in all areas, especially the head chef Jack who came to our table during the evening to...make sure everything was to our liking, even the price was of great value for what we had. It was a very memorable evening and I would recommend it to everyone. The atmosphere was also just perfect.More

The cafe is in such a great location, it's like you're sitting in the sea, amazing. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, poached eggs were perfect, in fact everything was perfect and we had one of the best coffees we've ever had. The staff were lovely...and polite, we couldn't find fault with anything. The café on the Pier is well worth a visit. In fact we'll definitely return.More

We came here for brunch during the week. It was our first time visiting and we were really enjoyed ourselves! The glass walls offer a great 360 view of the sea. We were impressed with the cake selection, but it was a long wait for...our brunch which was a shame.More

Lovely menu with good quality food. However, service is poor. It took over an hour for the food to arrive after the drinks did. Waitress was surly and not interested. Such a shame as the setting is beautiful.
