Visited with a group of 18 for a birthday celebration. Cannot fault the service/ communication leading up to our visit and overall hospitality of the staff at the Hare and Hounds on the evening. The food was amazing, well presented and delicious. Will definitely be back, as will the rest of the family! Very satisfied customers - well worth a... More

One of us had the chicken with wild mushroom and pea sauce, the other had seared cod fillet with prawn bouilllabaise. Both of these were original and really excellent. My wife love the home cheese biscuits and I found the white chocolate bread and butter pudding wonderful! Definitely worth a visit.

I was really impressed with this little pub, the food was great and the service even better. Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome, the atmosphere was lovely. Food was home cooked, fresh and served with a smile. Big portions and great value for money. We will be visiting again and will look forward to the summer sampling... More

Were in the area for a funeral . Looked on trip advisor & saw some good reviews so booked an evening meal. Waited about 45 minutes & on chefs recommendation 4 of us ordered cod & chips. Chips were frozen & overcooked & fish was more or less inedible. Hardly any fish & batter so hard it was impossible to... More

It was a cold and frosty January evening and although the fire was lit the pub was cold. The burger I had was perfectly nice but I would have preferred "proper" chips rather than French fries. The only vegetarian option for mains was the mushroom linguini and the banoffee waffle dessert was, in my opinion, over priced at £4.95. This... More

Had lunch here and food was ok. Nothing flash but I think pub was gearing up for xmas day as no one came in apart from us for the couple of hours we were there. The decor was dated but in line with the theme of the name hare and hound. Sign in the ladies toilet was more suited for... More

We went for a roast dinner here, we were late lunchers but they serve here until 5pm. Huge portions and sooooo tasty! Crispy roast potatoes, cauli cheese, perfect roast beef, medium to rare and two big slices, parsnips, peas and carrots topped off with a tasty Yorkshire pudding, all home made. We sat in a cosy corner by the log... More

A traditional country pub with a good range of Real Ales - Oakham Citra was my choice. The menu was a large selection of Italian Tapas and our group of 10 had a good selection for lunch. All looked amazing and found to taste as good as they looked!
