Lovely meals at the Royal Hotel restaurant yesterday. It was our plan B and I'm sure it was an improvement on Plan A! Beautiful food and great service.

We had a very nice meal here. Rhe prices were about average for the area. The views from this restaurant are one of the best. Our waitress was Amy and she made us feel welcome and had a good knowledge of the menue
I had lunch with a friend here today. We both had a burger which was good. Nice chips! Service was very friendly and a good location overlooking the beach
Made to feel welcome the moment we entered , service very good and quick. I wanted a non alcohol beer and was offered a bottle of ‘N0.50ty Bear, Boy was that good, a real ale where you could smell and taste the hops. Food was...delicious but one point - I had the jolly hog sausage sandwich whole meal bread, which although really tasty, fell apart before it got to my mouth ! Suggestion: would be better if served in either a roll or 1/2 baguette. Also, my wife, who is disabled would like to have the mirror in the disabled toilet lowered about 1ft as she found it difficult to see more than the top of her head.. Other than those two points — EXCELLENT.More
Lovely vegan options - had the fresh mushroom risotto - delicious, best risotto I’ve had! Excellent cheeseboard Great sandwiches
Went with hubby, table booked for 8pm. Had our mains, everything fine. Came and cleared the plates, then we waited, restaurant wasn’t busy I might add and there were sufficient staffing numbers. After about 15 minutes we politely asked for the dessert menu. After about...another 10 minutes someone came to take our order. By this time there’s only us and one other couple and it’s about 9:15 pm. Another 15 minutes go by, no sign of our dessert so we called the waitress over and she said she’d go check. She came back very apologetically and told us the kitchen was closed!, what?… by now it’s just us, all the other customers have gone. Seeing our displeasure the manager came racing over and said can I offer you an ice cream or a coffee on the house? We declined and asked for the bill. How an earth did no one know the kitchen was closed, and letting us sit their like lemons. If the place had been heaving, staff run off their feet then yes I could have probably said ok well never mind, but it wasn’t, there is no excuse. Royal Hotel you’ve let me down so I shan’t be coming back.More
I ordered the pulled pork. It had a lot of crackling but didn't seem to be a lot of meat. Also just 4 carrots and not much potato. It was disappointing and a burger or similar would have been better. I will know this for...future reference. I did have the baileys bread pudding with caramelised Bananas. I think that was potentially the best part. They do have outside seating in two places, one overlooking the sea (not very clear due to the barriers on the wall. In part this I believe for storm protection and another small seating area. Access ramp and easy access from the right hand side. The other way is a couple of stairs over the concrete wall. I do think it could have been better with the first but the desert I think was potentially the best.More
Really good breakfast spot, with beautiful views. Would recommend for breakfast! Well priced and great selection of menu items. Thank you!

We have just had a delicious lunch at the Royal Hotel. It is a lovely setting and parking next to hotel is easy. The reception staff were welcoming and our waiter Sue Ward was efficient, observant and kind. Thank you Sue! We didn't wait long...for our meal to be served and enjoyed the freshly cooked fish and noted the fresh green vegetables! In all, it was an enjoyable meal and we certainly hope to return soon. Thank you!More
Attended for my husbands birthday. Food was good, few items missing that we expected on our meals. Fish and Chips looked excellent and had great compliments from the family! Unfortunately this restaurant is always let down by service l. It’s extremely frustrating when waiting for...drinks when I see waitresses doing nothing at the bar. One of the waiters seemed like he was making up for the work that others were not doing. Lovely meal and food came quickly, just really slow drinks/service!!!More
Following a nice lunch in April we went back for dinner and were not disappointed. The calamari was first class as were the risotto and beef pie. Bread and butter pudding was delightful.
Great place to visit on a hot and sunny day for an Al fresco lunch. We “bagged” a table outside on the terrace and were more than ably served by Sue W who was very friendly and efficient. Our lunch choices were all avail able...and extremely well presented and served and this was more than matched by the same being perfectly cooked and tasting absolutely delicious! I would say that this is the perfect place for a stop off to enjoy an ideal lunch experience. Well done to Sue W and her colleagues!More
I chose a Toasted Club Sandwich When it arrived I noticed there was mould on the crust, it was taken back to the kitchen, when it came back l turned the bread over to see the toast was burnt black I took a couple of...bites but all l could taste was burnt toast Couldn't eat itMore
