Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place for a stopover for the night. Staff are very friendly and the site is very clean. We stopped with our Campervan and five adults and set up with the van large awning was slightly tricky as the spaces aren’t large and the slope is significant. This wasn’t too bad for sleeping in the van as we were on chocks but not great for sleeping in the awning.
It was great to get a really nice meal and a few drinks in the pub though. Food served up really quickly and very well made. Tasted great and good value for large portions. Chef was very accommodating for veggie and lactose intolerant needs.
One main quibble is that the site really needs to invest in a better toilet block. It’s very clean and nice but there is only one toilet and one shower. One shower is enough but there needs to be more than one toilet as the pub doesn’t open until 1pm.
Some people complain of road noise but we didn’t notice any.
Overall I could recommend this stop. Just be prepared for quirks.

My wife and I had a meal here last night. The surroundings are clean, bright and the outside garden is situated in a lovely area. There are plenty of outside tables.
We enjoyed good beers and keenly priced house wine.
The meal was excellent. We chose from a fresh menu which caters for all tastes. The homemade burgers were carefully presented and cooked to perfection. At the end of the evening the excellent young chef, Tom, took time to come to our table and introduce himself. He is an interesting, engaging character and was keen to seek feedback and ideas. This pub/restaurant is well worth a visit. I thoroughly recommend to anyone seeking properly cooked, fresh food served in beautifully maintained surroundings.

We were a group of 8, looking for a comfortable pub with good food. Fish &chips was just under £15 and looked (and tasted) like it had come straight from Iceland. Mac &Cheese was tasteless, poorly presented and a small portion. Other people tried The Nacho’s and hot dogs - both were very disappointing. Nacho’s had very little cheese and salsa; everyone was very disappointed. Clean but lacking soul.

Traditional Sunday lunch was not available when we visited today, however, the lunch we had was nothing less than superb. Ed the bar person was charming engaging and helpful, as was Tom the head chef who came to our table to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction, which it was. The only other comment I feel I should make is that I have probably today sampled the best pint of bitter I have in the last 10 years. Well done will come again,… Dr MGK

Ring before you go. Web site opening times not correct. Our friend had booked the table for 1230. On arrival,we were welcomed warmly. However,no full menu, as there was no chef. Problems with chefs. A reduced menu was offered, and we chose a salad board not the chicken curry. The meal was pleasant and not to pricey. Just a tad disappointing so ring before and enquire about the chef and full menu.

Jamie was a brilliant host. We bought our caravan. Our friends had a Campervan and we got a pod for the teenagers. A relaxed venue in a great location to explore East Kent, lovely walks and pretty towns. The pub itself had an extensive well priced menu and the food was delicious, highly recommended

We stayed 1 night in our Campervan at the plough and Harrow
Camping facilities were fine with shower/toilet 24/7
Plenty of walks available from the site to explore the Kent countryside.
The Pub was great and I was happy they they had Neck Oil available.
Holly (bar manager) was very helpful and made sure our dog was catered for bringing him a bowl of water.
The obvious disappointment was that they are without a Chef at the moment but we were allowed to order in a take out and the local pizza delivery was lovely .

We came here Saturday for some lunch as a family. We were greeted by very friendly staff who sat us at a lovely table right by the fireplace! They even asked if this table was ok for us which made us feel so much more welcome. We ordered drinks which were quickly served. For lunch we had a variety between us but the favourite was the burger! The filling was delicious and one of the best i have tasted. We stayed for a few more drinks after our meal and the atmosphere was lovely. The fire was continuously logged and music playing in the background. We then asked to see the glamping pods which we was shown right away by staff. They are very glamourous and homely and me and my family will definitely be booking!! Overall our time at the plough was very lovely and we felt welcomed throughout. Cannot wait to come back and use the camping that is based outside of the pub!! Thank you for our pleasent visit!

So nice to find another well kept and friendly pub with in striking distance from home. Gardens exceptionally kept as is the interior of the pub. Easy small menu and the food was very tasty. Even got the opportunity to go slightly of menu with a cheeseboard being knocked up for us. Burger and a pint package deal also on offer. They also appear to offer spaces for caravans and glamping that might be a plan when having a thirst on and unable to find the car let alone drive it. One minor moan more bottles of wine choice could be an idea and a cheeky cheap house wine wouldn’t go a miss bit everything else was just as we liked it thanks for a nice evening

I booked a table for Sunday lunch, and we arrived earlier than the booking time, and were told we could sit anywhere - there were plenty of seats to choose from as the place was empty, apart from two people sitting at the bar. The barman said there was no draught beers or cold drinks "as the cellar was down". As the drinks were limited, we ordered a bottle of coke and a glass of cold water and placed our food order, which came quickly, but being asked in a loud voice for ice and a slice from the bar was a bit alarming. The dinners were nice, but I wasn't expecting a leg of chicken. When our plates were cleared away we weren't offered a dessert menu, so decided to settle the bill and leave. We have seen plenty of signs advertising this pub, so thought we'd try it out, but am sorry to say that we will not be eating here again. The barman definitely needs to work on his customer service.

Very dissapointing, young man behind bar was pleasant. No menu, choice of chicken or vegetable curry or ploughman's. We had curry, extremely mild floating in a watery flavourless sauce. Service was quick as we heard microwave ping. Cost £15 each. Had better ping meals.

Great pub food with an extensive menu. Freshly made burger served with great chips and home made ‘slaw’. Lovely setting in the sunshine and good menu for vegetarians too.

We had a lovely stay in the pods at the plough & Harrow. Everything was set up on arrival very friendly staff. The pod was clean, comfortable & spacious.
Unfortunately the pub wasn't serving food which was a shame as we would have eaten there, its a lovely location very quiet & peaceful. The pub its self is really well maintained, has a nice outdoor seating area & I imagine would be lovely on a sunny day to sit & chill.
We did go for little drive & found a quaint little village not to far away called Eastry which has a post office, bakery,Chinese, pharmacy etc.
Thank you plough & harrow, we will definitely be back.

We decided to try this pub as it’s going to be our local in the near future. My son was visiting from London so thought this would be a good time!! On arrival we was given a few options for which table as it was empty bar one other table taken. There was no menu as they were being printed 🤷♀️ and were given very few options for our meal !!!! My husband and I had roast, which was very mediocre, my pork was very very fatty (I know pork is fatty anyway, but this was exceptionally). My son had curry, which he said was ok!
One positive was all the meals were hot! Very disappointing and I’m not sure if I will spend my money there again!!!!
