Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning food and so nice to have different vegetarian options but with dishes that appealed to both my daughter and I. Highly recommend and just wish we lived nearer to go again.

Great atmosphere, fun drinks, and really nice service. We would absolutely come back for drinks and snacks (not sure about dinner).

Excellent food, excellent service. The owner was super friendly and informative. Food was more imaginative then your average restaurant and plated so artistically! We picked this restaurant off the internet for it's fun name, we were thrilled that everything was excellent! We loved every small...plate we ordered!More

We were 4 on a golf trip and out for dinner. This is a great alternative when you've had too much golf/pub food and want to get away from fish and chips and burgers! Tons of small plates to select from with fresh ingredients. Everybody...in your group will find things they like. Friendly staff (Pearl, Izzy, and Edith took care of us!) and a fun vibe in the restaurant. Great collection of moderately priced wines and also cocktails. The location gives you plenty of pubs to walk to after for drinks and more fun.More

Ok so it was Easter Sunday night. However it wasn't busy so I hoped all would be well. Sadly, they had run had out of some of the small plates (there aren't all that many anyway) and one substitution was about 25% more expensive. All...that said, the food we had was very tasty. We had the recommended rhubarb sorbet which arrived in a burning hot bowl (strange but true). However, we declined the offer of a replacement and it was deducted from our bill without us asking. I have no doubt this is a really good place just having an 'off night' which happens to the best of us but I can only tell it as it was.More

Love this place. It's unusual in this day and age, when we have so many good dining opportunities, to meet so many new, delicious dishes in one menu. This time the gnocco (Hungarian, deep fried bread - surprisingly light! - with hard cheese and chives)...stood out, but the little lamb fingers and also the pear and endive salad, with light blue cheese dressing were delicious. It is fairly pricey, but we feel it is worth it for the quality and originality. The waitress was also really knowledgeable about how things had been cooked, which was great. (Just one word for the owners: only the tenderstem broccoli really didn't work - the sprout part was overcooked and the stems still woody. Hey, you can't win every one! We should have said something at the time and 9 out of 10 stars is still superb 😊)More

We are staying in Deal for a month and so we've tried out quite a few restaurants around town. We've found the Frog and Scot to be exceptional. The small tapa like plates are creative, fresh, and delicious. My partner eats meat but I don't...and we both found a bunch of great options. We liked our visit so much we immediately booked an appointment for Sunday roast which was also great! One of our favorite parts of Frog and Scot is how great the service is, with a special note to Isabelle who was incredibly welcoming and helpful.More

Been to Deal a few times now and have always walked past the Frog and Scot. This time we took the plunge for a Friday night. The menu is based around small plates, a kind of Tapas service. We chose three plates each with a...bottle of wine. All of the food was of a very high standard, the taste, the presentation and the quality. Stand outs were the slow cooked lamb and the sea bream for me. The staff very much put you at ease and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual, nothing a problem at all. If you want recommendations for food, drinks the staff are knowledgeable and can advise on flavours etc. Cost is very much in line with a fine dining experience but without the pretentiousness. All in all a very enjoyable evening, would highly recommend. If you’re looking for something a little different.More

This has fast become one of my favourite places to eat in Deal. If you are willing to try something new and trust the chefs, then the food is amazing. The menu changes every couple of months, which keeps it interesting and seasonal. Great service...from start to finish every time. Whether you book a table or find yourself sitting at the bar, it's a really great meal out.More
