Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tucked out of the way, this is an amazing find. We went with friends for Sunday lunch. 2 had the roast chicken both said it was moist and 2 of us had the beef, myself included. The beef was excelent and no too thinly sliced...as in most places. My knife went through it like butter and the roast potatoes were crunchy and fluffy inside. The amount of food was more than enough the ladys couldn't finish theirs. So good I have just booked again for 12th November. Looking forward to another great meal.More

Only recently got around to visiting this place having lived in the area for a while. i wish we had discovered it earlier. Lovely spacious garden - but more importantly clean and tidy! Lunch menu was extensive and the food was good - the best...onion rings I have tasted. Staff very friendly and attentive. The only negatives in the interest of offering advice would be that it was necessary to buy 2 small bottles of orange juice to have the equivalent of a glass of orange. Also, that the desserts at £7.25 seem a bit steep so we declined. Otherwise, a very nice lunch.More

Delightful sitting in the sun in the very pleasant garden staring at the vast horizon - so peaceful. Staff here are lovely, friendly, warm and very efficient. Mid-week lunch and the place was packed which says a lot. Food here is pretty typical, but well-cooked...and presented and reasonably priced. The Kentish Horse is a really nice venue and we will certainly return.More

Very pleasant staff and a lovely spacious garden. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Our chips were badly overcooked as were my chicken goujons.

I love this countryside pub , staff & management are generally friendly, seems like a great bunch of locals … but, it’s a shame the food on the last couple of visits come in a little disappointing- no roast dinner for us on Sunday, as...one is advised ( after the event) to preorder this in advance- second choices were just okay. I will go back, but perhaps they would do better to stick to roast only on Sundays - and younger waiting staff could only improve their customer relationship skills- this is harsh, but this is my genuine feeling.More

First time visiting today, and we will definitely be returning. Car park has plenty of space. Such a warm friendly welcome. Very clean and tidy. Good variety on the menu. Our lunch was amazing, possibly the best chips I’ve ever had, portion sizes very generous...too! We decided to eat in the garden, so peaceful. Lunch arrived quite quickly. You can pay by card/Apple Pay which is handy. Overall, perfect, nothing to fault.More

A pub/restaurant with a typical country pub feel. A pleasant atmosphere and pleasant courteous staff. Looked like a great view out from the garden for a sunny day. The meals ordered were very nice, good portions. Leave some space for your pud!! the cheese cake...was amazing.More

We had another great visit to the Kentish Horse, we love the garden area, the staff are super friendly and attentive, food is always good. Maria and Amanda are lovely as are the rest of the staff. We also came at Easter bank holiday, it...was really busy and we hadn’t booked so thought they might not do food for us but they kept taking orders and we didn’t wait long at all, very relaxed time even with it being busy, well done and thank you x xMore

The Kentish horse is a real country pub, the ales are great and so is the food, even better , they don’t allow children in the bar area, so unlike other pubs were children run and screech while the rest of us have to endure...this, this pub is ideal for adults to relax in peace and quiet. Long may it last.More

We held a gathering family and friends here at the Kentish Horse pub after a service at the church. Trevor and his team made us feel very welcome and we all rated it a first class event. Champagne and lunch buffet excellent. Thank you.

Definitely going again some day. Staff friendly, polite and efficient. Two log fires on a cold winters day, so good. A wonderful old time bar feeling. As for the food, well it was delicious and plenty of it. Just like a home cooked Sunday roast....Also none of this we don’t trust you and running your card through before you have even ordered. Thank you all.More

Tuesday lunchtime. Really friendly welcome. The ham sandwich was easily the best I have had recently. More than three layers of home-cooked ham. The wife had the prawn sandwich and raved about that as well. The local cider was also very good. Well worth a...visit if you are in the area.More
