This is an old-style with some original styling and features, including lovely stained glass and hops hanging from the ceiling. Popular with locals as a regular social space. It is a pub with food, rather than a restaurant.
Pleasant place for a lunch stop. Decent...range of beers available. Decent sandwiches, although not very generous.More
What a lovely way to spend a Sunday! This was our second visit to the Bear Inn but our first time to eat but will certainly not be our last.
Lovely pub, friendly staff, wonderful service and fabulous food! Oh, and the beer was awesome...too! Mrs WG had a lovely veggie roast and I had the smoked haddock, poached egg, bubble & squeak & cream sauce. It was great! Thanks guys and we'll see you again most definitely!!More
We had a look at Google maps and found a walking trail called The 2 creeks. I enjoy a walk anywhere but this was underwhelming and even if there were good views you'd miss them from looking down......dog mess everywhere!!!!!
We decided to leave it...and head into the main roads of Faversham and what a wonderful and retro mooch. Butchers, bakers and candlestick makers and random shops in between.
Before jumping back in the car to head home we decided to pop into the Bear Inn.
It was like a game show where you get to choose a door to walk into. Would you find Narnia or would you get the old water in bucket trick?!
No, you'd get old fashioned saloons and snugs, a fire place and a great selection of BW&S and ales and an old style register (updated to accept card payments) of course.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the best smile and warmest welcome from Lacey. She was extremely attentive to 'lil old wine drinker me' and she made us feel very special. Being the curious cat that I was I noticed she was like this with all the customers that were there.
The prices were reasonable but it wouldn't have mattered when you receive a service as such. Thank you Lacey for making this pub stand out.
We will definitely be returning.....to the pub....not the 'crappy' creek.More
