Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

High quality food and drink, at modest prices. A really nice lunch. (Our bill worked out at £38 per person, including pheasant, side dishes, English champagne, and panna cotta.) Parking is not ideal, which is the only slight drawback. We loved it, and recommend it strongly. A proper restaurant, with a real chef, and excellent service. They don't add a service charge (they should do), so make sure you leave a tip - they deserve it. Famous for its pie and pint evening specials, which I haven't tried yet.

The food was brilliant in particular as I would consider the experience as new takes on food classics and it worked particularly well. An absolute outstanding dining experience. Waiter service was attentive and to the point most importantly never overbearing. I am very happy to have had a chance to experience this restaurant and on my next visit to the UK I'm fully intending to go back there.

Pretty building on a prominent corner in Faversham. Very dog friendly in a couple of areas. The food is varied and well served.. A place to unwind and chat while you eat.Has live music on Sunday afternoons as well as occasionally through the week.. Nice outdoor area for summer drinks

Service was abysmally slow, with food only miraculously appearing when we complained. When it did finally appear, my wife's fish was overcooked and consequently very dried up. We didn't dare send it back as we didn't have the whole of the rest of the day to spare !

Booked in for lunch to celebrate partner birthday. On arrival bar was pretty busy. Once seated, we ordered our food and drinks. Didn’t wait too long for food to come but unfortunately it was disappointing. I ordered sea bass which basically came with nothing, some sort of potato crisp which were overdone so plate was pretty empty. And my partner had beef which was good but food was just warm no hot. No staff came to check if everything was ok. When we finished our meal it took almost 30mins for staff to come and ask if we wanted anything else. On the end we just asked for our bill and left. It was disappointing as previously we had nice dinner there.

Ambience was clinical not cosy although I didn't actually feel cold. Group of 9 people so had pre-ordered pies and booked for 7.30 but no food until 8.20 and my greens were cold by the time they had finished serving our group - Food was OK but got cold quickly. Desserts also took a long time to arrive. Waitress was attentive, apple juice was lovely, nice to have a linen napkin. Overpriced. Would not choose to go there again.

Having see the good reviews we booked a table for lunch at 1:00pm on a Wednesday. We were the only people in the entire place so there was zero atmosphere, however decoratively it was very pleasant and warm on a cold day. The food was poor - the calamari starter was very rubbery and the pheasant pot roast mains were dry and under seasoned. Given we were the only customers it took a long time for the food to arrive and unfortunately wasn't worth the wait.

A largish group of us were booked for the early Sunday lunch sitting. There was no friendly welcome and we had to go to the bar for drinks. The duck starter was apparently good, and other starters were enjoyed, but the mussels were miniscule. I have never seen smaller in my entire experience. The main roast meals were plentiful and very tasty, although the potatoes were very hard. Most enjoyed their desserts, but the pistachio "cake" was neither a cake nor flavoured with pistachio. It was nearer to a small, tasteless rusk. Also. the staff mainly looked miserable. I had hoped for more.

Came here for a Sunday Lunch. The inside eating area is well presented and has a modern homely feel. Table service was very good and friendly. Between us we had the roast lamb and the vegetarian "Suet pudding". The Lamd was execellent. The suet pudding no so not much. It was more like a pie - the casing was dry and the filling was also too dry. Maybe it had been hanging araound for a bit. The starters were very tasty. Overall though, even taking into account the current energy problems and inflationary pressures for the price charge you didn't get a lot of food. Even the vegetables wer in short supply. So not very good value in my eyes. The food gets marked down because of the vegetarian options,

They say vegetarian friendly but I disagree. We went for lunch and were treated in a friendly fashion and given set lunch menu and a la carte. Being veggie the only main course option on either was a suet mushroom pudding which on a lovely sunny day did not appeal. So I asked if I could have the goats cheese starter with some veggies as my main course. No problem I was told but the only vegetable available was cabbage. OK somewhat surprising , although I was charged an extra £2.50 for a miniscule portion. My husband had chicken and we both had a desert. But when the bill came, instead of £20 for 2 courses, his was priced at £25. We raised the issue and the waitress said she thought he ordered a la carte - we said what is the difference and she couldn't really tell us, but said she would alter the bill. Just seemed very money grabbing - we had a glass of proswcco each plus a large wine so we were happy to pay a fair price. We will not go back.

Fantastic meal again from this place. The Sunday roasts are perfectly cooked with a great selection of vegetables and one of the best things is you are not rushed. We spent a really relaxing time there and would be happy to go back again and again

I ordered a large black coffee with pouring cream. It never arrived. The hostess queried my order tossing modern nicknames at me, to see if I might recognize the lingo. I didn't, so I reiterated "large black coffee and a small jug of cream". The hostess still looked confused, so I canceled my coffee. The hostess then became frantic, reeling off a bunch of Italian/American coffee names - none I was familiar with. It took me several attempts to cancel my order. I was there for a meeting with a family member, who I would rather be in discussion with, than learning the fancy coffee names on the menu! If it's this hard, to understand (in English) Large, Black Coffee, I hate to imagine how it is for tourists.

We liked the new menu and were not disappointed. The pea, leek and cheese arancini were delicious to share and my husband really enjoyed the loin of pork on pancetta. My choice of spinach, feta and pine nuts Wellington was delicious. My husband was very pleased with the selection of cheese, none of the usual boring kind and decent crackers. I was mildly disappointed with my cornflake icecream, not quite what I expected. Service was pleasant enough and we thought the meal was good value for money.

Excellent lunch of un-complicated food. Well prepared and served. Excellent chicken and leak pie with superb short crust pastry, mashed potato was a tad over salted but nevertheless complimented the pie. Sea bass well presented with a crispy skin. Ice creams and sorbet to follow. Digestives taken in the secluded garden. Accompanied with an un tried Faversham wine - crisp and floral.

For my daughter's recent wedding we practically took over this delightful 8 bedroom hotel. From booking in through to leaving three days later everything was perfect. The rooms are individual and to the very highest standard with top quality fittings and small touches that make it feel like home The owners and staff were always attentive and courteous and there just when you needed them The food is perfection. They put on a 20 person wedding feast which everybody thoroughly enjoyed and if the restaurant on the Sunday afternoon is anything to go by this is a very well liked venue All I can say is thank you for a perfect weekend from me and my family and good luck in your new venture
