I found the food to be very basic, initially, I wanted a fish dish, but seemingly the fish had been sold out. So I ordered a (Mexican dish) Bean chilly pot, which combined some rice with beans on top, with a few burritos and a...very 'anaemic' looking guacamole which had no tomatoes or onion... And this was the main meal, really I've had better from a street vendor in Mexico. For a starter, we had Guacamole and salsa, which arrived half an hour late. Again nothing really special... My partner had a Vegan Burger, when I asked the waitress if the burger was homemade, she said that the ingredients had been decided on by the chef but the burger had been made elsewhere ??? Strange to say the least! (Does it take that much to knock up a ' Vegan/vegetarian burger in the kitchen, something any qualified chef could do blindfolded... As for the chips, they arrived cold and not handmade, they were somewhat similar to what one would have found in (Wetherspoons). The waitress was charming, polite and very helpful which made the evening less tiresome. On the whole, the cost (£53. 90) of the meal including one glass of wine and a glass and a half of beer was excessive, considering the quality of the food wasn't that special and a far cry from what I would call Authentic Mexican. Needless to say I will not be coming back.More
The BEST Mexican restaurant we have ever been to. Fantastic food, lovely location, great vibes, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. We had the double up fajitas and it was big, tasty and lots of options to put into our fajitas. Would highly recommend.
Came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was fairly buzzing. Staff were attentive, had taken note of the comment on my booking that my partner is a coeliac and were happy to go through the menu with her. The food is hearty...fare with a mainly mexican theme. Mixed tacos were not too bad but could do with a little more flavour. Nachos were decent too. The ribs were tender and tasty, the fries were nicely done and the sweetcorn juicy. Overall a good solid place to come for a no nonsense feed.More
Just came out, the food was terribly bland all around. Started with the prawn starter and the prawns was flavourless and very over cooked. Had 2 steaks both very chewy and the chips where swimming in grease peppercorn sauce was basically water and when you...pay £22.50 for a steak there’s got to be some standards. Had the fajitas and there was next to no seasonings on the chicken, for £22! Awful and won’t be going back again! DO NOT RECOMMEND!More
I took my family, (wife and 4 young children) for dinner. Firstly, the reception from the manager was very welcoming, I think his name was Dan. But on top of that, the food we all ordered was perfect, and my children are not easily pleased!...I had the smokehouse burger, my wife had the vegetarian fajitas, and the kids all enjoyed their food from the kid's menu. What more can you ask for?! Another employee, I believe another Dan, was also super helpful, both looked after us without fuss. I highly recommend #The Albion Taverna to all, well worth a visit for quality service and perfect food.More
Haven’t visited for food for a while. The menu was interesting and the calamari and prawns were delicious, but the fajitas were slightly underwhelming- would have expected a bit more spiciness. My husband’s steak was a bit stringy and fatty- I had the same steak...elsewhere and it was delicious so the source of beef can’t be blamed. Love the pub but some of the food needs improvementMore
I was expecting the pub to be busy even though it was a Tuesday night but the weather was really good. We arrived and met our friends and went to our table. The service was incredibly slow and the waitress was not interested. We ordered...three soups and a calamari, the soup was :- Salmon, cod, smoked haddock and mussels, spicy tomato and coconut broth, sourdough and chilli butter, that is a copy from their website, so excuse the spelling mistake. It arrived as half a bowl of stodge, there were 4 mussels but I don't think anyone found any identifiable pieces of fish, we had to ask for the bread, which turned out to be a normal french stick, not toasted with what appeared to be margarine over the top. The calamari : - Sliced red chilli, capers, fried sage and lemon & garlic aioli, (again copy and pasted) the calamari was cooked well but there was no alioli. We all went for the salad:- Mexican inspired grilled chicken salad (996 kcal) Chipotle cauliflower, red onions, peppers, tomato, corn & bean salad, coriander, rocket, garlic & lemon oil. This was ok but the chicken was slightly overcooked and the red onion were huge chunks with all the root still attached. The dressing was quite overpowering, but that could be a personal taste issue. Whilst we should have complained at the time when you are with friends it is difficult. We have used this pub several times in the past but we will not be returningMore
We called in for a drink 3 members of the staff behind the bar only one of which was pulling a pint. No acknowledgement given no hello I'll be with you shortly. We stood there for a couple of minutes then walked out. Absolutely disgusting...standard of service. I do not recommend this placeMore
I have taken a walk around Faversham with my husband and on the way back to the car we said lets have a quick drink. Well we walked in the front door. We stood there at the bar about a minute or so. There were...3 staff behind the bar. 1 guy pouring pints and 2 girls behind him doing nothing. However not a hello. Sorry only be a minute. Or any recognition whatsoever. To me thats the worst customer service for sure. We said to each other shall we go and both agreed to go. I don't think we will go back as thats not the way to greet customers. Customer service 0 out of 10. Really bad.More
Our visit was unplanned, but with the pubs in the middle of town full on a busy Sunday we headed here instead. The service was really friendly, just a little slow, and food was tasty. Although the quality of some bits could be better, we...were impressed with all the vegan trimmings for the fajitas-much better than the usual “no cheese no sour cream” situation. The portions were huge but priced accordingly at around £15 for the fajitas for one. There’s a decent outside area which is super nice, right next to the water, inside is nice too-the balance between pub and Mexican taqueria is struck well although there was a bit of an off putting musty smell. Slightly quicker service, better quality ingredients and overall attention to detail would make it 5/5. But would definitely recommend!More
Oh dear another place never to return to. Service 1/10. No smile and only comments were 'no problem'. Food 2/10. Seemingly cheap ingredients. What psycho puts sweetcorn in a salad? Slimey cauliflower. Strange sweet dressing. Nice to have tea in a pot but why a...teabag? Over priced. Company 10/10. Will not return.More
Sadly our once much visited local has not only gone downhill but the manager doesn’t even cater to customers who sit outside. Having seen Brazilian soup a week previously with chunks of fish, I resolved to buy it but I was just delivered a soup...base with no fish at all, just mussels. It tasted OK and I ate most of it but it most certainly wasn’t fish soup. This was pointed out to the manager who couldn’t even be bothered to come out to explain what had gone wrong. We tried again and apparently he couldn’t do anything because I had eaten it. We weren’t after refunds or a free anything, but he simply neither cared nor listened. They proceeded to explain that they don’t check outside to see if customers are OK. Says it all really. Our beloved tacos have gone, prices have rocketed but service and food have headed north. We are very disappointed and feel cheated.More
What a great place, food was plentiful and delicious. Had the wagyu burgers and chicken fajitas, would definitely recommend, we plan to return soon
A lovely pub with very nice staff but unfortunately our lunch was not that great. I had the wagyu burger and my partner had the mackerel. My burger was over cooked and dry the chips were only luke warm and it was served on a...cold plate. The mackerel by contrast was enjoyed by my partner.More
