My wife and I called into the Nutmeg Cafe for a coffee during our stroll in Hythe High Street. From the outside it appeared to be just the type of place where we wished to spend a lazy hour. We both ordered Americanos, milk for my coffee and cream for my wife's I didnt think the coffee was particularly great,... More

Popped in for lunch on spec as I had seen on Trip Advisor that they offered gluten free - obviously essential as a coeliac. Had an excellent value, VERY TASTY, swiftly served lunch. It was busy and at times a little noisy but only what you would expect from a popular high street cafe at lunchtime. Highly recommend.

Lots of gluten free choices, great freshly prepared food, quality light lunches. Its always busy so the service can sometimes be a little slow. However the atmosphere is really nice and the food is really lovely.

A quirky little place to eat and with such a tasty range of snacks. It's set right at the beginning of the High Street too - so nice and handy.

Popped in for a coffee but felt drawn to the excellent looking cakes. It was very busy so we sat in the outside court yard. The furniture outside has seen better days and could do with a good clean but the waiter did make sure he cleaned the table for us. As suspected the cake was great and the coffee... More

We had a very nice afternoon stop here. I was most impressed by the large teapots provided. So much nicer than the piddly little teapots one can get in so many tea shops! There was a very large selection of cakes on offer from your stnadard victoria sponge through carrot cakes to some very nice looking fuity decorated white chocolate... More

The best Coffee on the High Street. The eggs Benetict are to die for. Love going to this place as often as I can. My only grumble is I wish they were dog friendly, so many other places on the high street are. Return visit very soon

What a shame. I have visited a few times. This time I took my dog, who is well behaved. Sat down and was about to order when I was told that on busy days like Saturday we could only have the dog in the garden. Strange as there were more than two tables empty and they allowed a child to... More
