Thankyou for the wake

Asked the landlord to cater a wake ,the price was very competitive and he really listened. When we arrived I was absolutely delighted with the quality of the food. The cakes were gorgeous and he had made a special chocolate cake as a centrepiece for us to cut. There was a range of finger food as well as salads and there were proper plates and cutlery, no dreadful bendy paper plates. The staff were friendly and very efficient as some of the attendees kept the bar busy. The toilets were spotless and the standard of food hygiene was exemplary. I really hope this couple do well here they deserve to. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thankyou for making a sad event into a celebration of my brother’s life.

Best meal in a long time!

Just got home from the most delicious meal at The Rainham Arms After seeing a post the other day about how good the food was we decided to give it a go for my father in laws birthday and it did not disappoint! My husband had the full rack of 6hr smoked ribs which were amazing! I had the smoked sirloin steak which has got to be the best steak I’ve had in a long time! Mother in law had the hunters chicken which she said was the best she’s had and father in law had chicken and ribs which he said were delicious too! Also we had 2 kids meals which they both thoroughly enjoyed too. The owners and staff were also very friendly and welcoming and nothing was any trouble at all. We’ve only lived in Rainham for a year so don’t have much experience with the pubs and restaurants around here but we can safely say we will 100% be returning and recommending it to everyone!!

Delicious food

We hold our sign choir sessions here every Monday and this week I decided to try their burger and chips I had the full burger and cheesy chips and I must say for £8 it was absolutely amazing. It's a dog friendly pub and staff are very lovely. I would Def go there for food again

Ableism and Gouging

Honestly so dissapointed We found out recently that our local pub (literally 2 roads away) does a Sunday carvery. It was a little pricey but so nice and although the place was empty we where sure it would pick up and raved about it to our friends and family. Come to find out today that their prices have risen again (I understand the cost of living crisis but 20 quid for a plate of food and a drink is a bit steep) and worse still that they now have a policy in place that you cannot take home leftovers you don't eat. Now I understand people can take advantage. But when youre the ones serving the meat. And you only get one plate to make. There's only so much food you can take and the pub already controls how much they serve food wise. Usually we go to a carvery about 5 of us together. And we cobble together one plate of leftovers that ends up being my husbands late dinner when he gets off the night shift. I also suffer from severe stomach issues (which I won't go into) that prevent me from eating much at a time or quickly so often I need to finish my dinner a few hours later (yes I do this at home too). To hear they wouldn't even accommodate the needs of the disabled in regards to food they'd already purchased and that was confirmed by their owners was absolutely shocking. The entitlement and ableism inherent in people that are just being spiteful over food. Because this "policy" of theirs doesn't stop hungry people filling up their plates it just ensures that so much food goes into their bins. Not eco friendly and such a waste I now understand why there was noone else in the pub today. I cannot see the Rainham Arms Carvery lasting. And if this is how they treat regular patrons. I cannot see them lasting as a pub for long. Shameful.

We are sorry to hear your complaint as was addressed as the time, since then you have slurred us over every Facebook site you can, the price of our reflects staffs living cost, rise of fresh produce etc, as posted in the pub a carvery is help yourself to as much vegetables as you want, if your still hungry take more it’s also stated the prices when ordering and it does state we do not do takeaway on carvery. we don’t think it’s appropriate people want to come into the pub fill there plates up, tell me there full then want to fill it up again to take home, if you order from the set menu you paid for the meal so you are entitled to have it to take away , you only paid for one meal not the full carvery unit to take home. you have eaten in my establishment several times not once did you complain about equality and dietary restrictions we apologise for you not understanding how carverys work. If you wanted a meal to take home for your husband we would of gladly plated one up for you as you would of paid for that meal. You argued with me that there was too much food on your plate, Maybe next time put on your plate what you know you’re going to eat to avoid wastage. The other customers That were in the pub also thought it was highly disgusting that you were discussing actually taking the plates home. And can I just add it’s carvery that is unavailable to takeaway all other meals are available. Thank you

Wouldn't go back if the food was free.

First impressions of the pub is it is nicely decorated but then you see all the tables and it looks like a cafe. Tables too close together and you do not get the food altogether, so from when we got our first meal it took 20 mins for our last and everyone got to eat. The bratwurst sausage was not a bratwurst in any form and the mixed grill was tough and to be honest we gave it to the dog as it was that bad. The stake was just too tough and not rare like I asked. I tried talking to the landlady about wanting to eat together but all she said is everyone has it like that as the meals they use the smokehouse takes a lot longer and I clearly haven't been to a proper smokehouse before. Even when I said I wouldn't be coming back she didn't seem to care. The food is also overpriced.

Roast dinner @ Rainham Arms

Was greeted by wonder smile from staff who definitely loved there job. 6 of us had a Sunday roast Dinner. Beef was beautifully cooked and moist lamb was tender and melted in your mouth. Crispy home made roast potatoes lots of seasonal vegetables lots of Yorkshire pudding more for free if you wanted. We ordered a portion of cauliflower cheese which was out standing. Service was ex excellent young lady that served us new the venue well and was very polite and helpful. Only had the roast as portions were so big we didn't have room for a pudding. Ps it's new owners are a dream team pub was packed so I would say pre book I could not upload pictures as system would not let me

Popped in for a pint on our way Home. What a difference atmosphere new landlords met us with a hello what can I get you I had a cider wife had diet coke. I decided to try a burger from the burger van we had eaten there before that was different. Well burger was perfect beautiful and juicy succulent meat not dry like before. Lots more customers than I had ever seen so someone's doing something right. Roll on when you get the kitchen open. Kitchen re-opened. Roast dinners!

We came down for the first roast dinners since the kitchen opened and we were not disappointed! The roast potatoes were so crispy and could tell they were homemade, the cauliflower cheese was AMAZING! Servings were great for the adult and kids roasts. Lovely service from the ladies behind the bar, will defo be back

Visited over the weekend with my family as we heard was under new management and was not disappointed! We had food from the burger van which was great and such good value for money and the staff were so friendly and attentive. So good to see the pub doing so well again.

We had hot dogs and chips delivered and was lovely! Really big portions and quick delivery, the hot dogs was lovely!! A portion of chicken wings was also thrown in for free which was lovely Thankyou! Will be ordering again soon

Fantastic owners, very accommodating, the food is unreal! It really is a must try, tucked away in a small part of rainham, this really place really boasts a great atmosphere along with great company and very, very tasty food! A great mix between classic pub and modern gastro, a must visit.

Thank you again to all the staff at The Rainham Arms… for a friendly atmosphere & putting on a breakfast to enjoy whilst watching the England game (shame about the result) regardless, the breakfast was delicious & we had a lovely time here as usual. Went today and tried the lunch menu. The brisket baguette was so tasty & the burger was lovely too. Saw the ribs being prepped for the smoker & will definitely be returning to try some of those ,they look amazing. Friendly staff too

Brilliant experience! Will be back!

Me and my partner came here tonight and it was better than expected. We had never heard of it and had only seen a picture on Facebook. Im so glad we went. I had the burger and chips and my boyfriend had the smoke house bbq mixed grill. It was massive! Every bit of it was spot on. The service was brilliant, very friendly and inviting. Lovely people, down to earth and got on well. The place was immaculate with really homely toilets. I'm glad we took a chance as my partner is very picky. We will definitely be going back again,especially for one of their events. Thank you.
