This place is a little gem. The food was amazing as was the service. Four of us ate breakfast here and had three different dishes. Everything was cooked and presented perfectly. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time we are in the area.
Just arrived in Sandwich, a bit fed up we were, after a long, rainy drive. Our spirits however were revived in The Pit Stop Cafe! The food was top notch and presented well, with attention to detail. As important was the welcome from the cafe...owners who were so very warm and welcoming it was a pleasure to be in their company. We left feeling on top of the world!More
Quaint cafe, friendly owner who could not have done more! The food was gorgeous, jacket pot and baguette gorgeous lattes, loved the whole experience
Thank you for your review. Wishing you all the best
We’d previously been frequent customers of the “Beach Hut cafe” which occupied this location. Having heard poor reviews when it went through the “Smoke house” incarnation we didn’t bother, but wanted to try it out when it changed hands again to the “Pit Stop “...Really disappointed and won’t be returning and I’ll explain why: > Breakfast menu combinations seem strange and you can’t mick and match so if you want lots of meat on you plate, you’d have to pay extra for beans for example > Orders were messed up / forgotten about > We had a breakfast baguette, with the break clearly being cheap frozen baguettes just warmed up, they were tasteless. > Not enough space downstairs and the stairs, we’ll they really are lethal and an accident waiting to happen as others have noticed. I’ll be back to the Strand Street kitchen in future, much better experience and less “gastro cafe”More
We are so sorry your experience wasn’t as expected, Had you mentioned any of the above we would of happily amended any issues, Our baguettes are from a local bakery, we also stock local fresh ingredients where possible. The stairs fit sandwich being a very...More
I went to the Pit Stop today for the first time, the service was excellent, I had a pot of Tea and a Bacon Sandwich. The salad garnish was the best ever, a lovely light dressing, the salad included rocket, lambs leaves, peppers onions etc....The bacon Sandwich was served on very fresh lovely bread, the bacon was delicious. The venue is small but perfectly formed with a great outside area for the summer season. Well worth a visit.More
Thank you for the great feedback, we appreciate all the support. Wishing you all the best
My youngest mentioned his intrigue to the fact there is a place called Sandwich. We only live around 50 minutes away so I decided to take my two children 13 and 15 on a quick visit to Sandwich for a sandwich! What a beautiful medieval...little town it is to visit by the way. We walked around and happen upon The pit stop sandwich shop. Just a short walk from the main river, this little cafe/restaurant was a gem find! I would highly recommend this for the friendly inviting staff who couldn’t do enough for you! plus lovely well made freshly prepared food. Very clean and fresh and good value too. If you ever fancy a sandwich In Sandwich then you could do a lot worse than visit The pit Stop.More
So happy you enjoyed your visit to sandwich and enjoyed a sandwich in sandwich. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best.
First time visitors. Very friendly staff. Couldn’t do nor to help. Had to e best breakfast we’ve had in a very long time. Definitely the best we’ve experienced locally. Spotlessly clean premises. All the food items were cooked fresh and not just pre heated like...most places. Coffee was v good quality. Varied all day menu so plenty to choose from. Also a bonus didn’t come out stinking of chip fat like most of the cafes in Sandwich! Will def returnMore
Thank you for your feedback and enjoyed your breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you in the future. All the best
We visited Pitstop today for the first time and was highly impressed with the food and the staff were so friendly and extremely attentive. Our dog also enjoyed the visit. The breakfast was delicious. The quality of the produce used was excellent. They also have...GF options available which was even more of a bonus. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend you stop by if in Sandwich.More
Thank you for your feedback. Look forward to seeing you soon.
Lovely friendly little cafe - we stopped for coffee and cake and both were fabulous. Coffee is locally sourced - great to support local suppliers. Owners really friendly and wish them every success with their lovely business
Thank you for your lovely feedback means a lot to us as a team. We wish you all the best.
I visited here in December and I had salmon, eggs and avocado on toast. The toast was very soggy and the bread cheap. It wasn't very pleasant and the presentation was quite poor. Before I left I needed the toilet which was upstairs and on...my return I nearly fell down the stairs. The stairs ere very steep and dangerous and are a health and safety hazard and won't be long before someone has an accident.More
Thank you for your feedback. Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. Sourcing local bread from a local supplier is what we prefer to do keeping it in the community, We could of happily changed anything your not happy with. Stairs are steep for a building...More
The Pit Stop replaces a not very good cafe and couldn't be more different. Tea and coffee are excellent and they have a chef - yes, a chef in a cafe - who makes delicious food. The burgers are top class, as are the breakfasts....We'll be going there frequently.More
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We look forward to hosting you again. Wishing you all the best
Lovely Customised Big Breakfast - locally sourced Sausages and Bacon. Great friendly service and happy customers. Would definitely recommend for a quick “Pit Stop”
Thank you for your wonderful feedback we appreciate your support. Wishing you all the best
Cute little cafe i found working here this week. Been here twice now. Small cafe but have such lovely, welcoming friendly staff members. Nothings too much trouble (even me sitting outside in cold weather eating) Hats off to the chef for tasty flavours. And I'm...a bit of a coffee snob, but recommend their cappuccino, they got the froth right and the taste was lovely (just don't ask the name of the brand 😆, locally sourced so that's good) I shall be returning and highly recommend this little treasure of a find. 😁 Thank you very muchMore
Thank you, it was a pleasure meeting you. We hope to see you soon x
