We were very warmly welcomed by the owner when we visited with my disabled mother today. She served us lovely spiced apple cake and cheese scones, and was chatty and helpful. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for its homemade cake and friendliness.

Well worth a visit just to witness the female Basil Fawlty in action.Must admit she was ok with us and we enjoyed our visit but was rude to other customers which was a bit embarrassing.

Charming tea shop/cafe, good selection of sandwiches, cakes, and specials. Their food is obviously all freshly prepared and the place is full of good quality furnishings.

Peggotty's Tea Shop has an interesting, ever changing decor inside the shop. The oldest in Tenterden 42 years as a tea room Building dates back to 16.45 Perhaps a little quirky? Bright paintings decorate the walls. There are tables in front of the shop, and also a couple of tables in the peaceful oasis of a back garden. The cakes and scones are 100% homemade. Try the tangy lemon drizzle or the nutty coffee and walnut, 2 of the favourites. They will not disappoint you.If you are feeling the need to be decadent, try a scrumptious afternoon tea - consisting of sandwiches of your choice, scones jam and clotted cream, and cake of your choice to finish. The cream teas are scrumptious - how can you resist?Go on - treat yourself! Try delicious Cornish pasty, BLT, various selection of Quiche . Pannni, toasted prawn sandwiches. Sandwiches No room for any type of push chairs It’s too small
