Table for Four, daughters birthday meal. Out of the four of us, one was vegetarian and one was Celiac, they managed to serve us all and we had a great meal. Staff were very attentive and the Samphire has a lovely atmosphere Very good choice for all whether you like fish, meat or vegetarian Will certainly go again Thank you

I visited the restaurant with a dear friend. Before I go on please pass on compliments to the chef. The food was delicious and well presented. What wasn't satisfactory was the service. It was after 2pm when we arrived and made ourselves Comfortable at a table laid for 4. Granted that there were two of us but there were about... More

We had a lovely evening meal for 2 at Samphire last week. The restaurant's atmosphere is cosy and inviting with attentive, knowledgeable and personable waiting staff. We had the cauliflower panna cotta as a starter (impressed that this was a genuinely vegetarian option minus the gelatine!) and the the stone bass and mushroom gnocchi as main courses followed by the... We have been meaning to try Samphire for a very long time and we really should've gone sooner! We received a warm friendly welcome at what was clearly a very busy lunchtime. We had breads, olives, freshly made hummus and habas followed by mushroom gnocchi which completely surpassed expectations. Although we doubted we could manage a dessert, they looked too... More

We visited Whitsable on a cold day in January looking to try somewhere new to eat. We chose the Samphire as it looked very inviting. We had not booked but they found us a seat and we was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a good choice on the menu and there is a good choice... More

Came here with my boyfriend for breakfast. Booked a table online the night before, and when we arrived at Samphire, my name was written on the reserved table. We ordered the french toast with maple syrup, the yogurt and fruit compote with granola, and a mocha and green tea. Everything was bigger than we were expecting, so great value for... More

Great welcome, lovely food, fabulous fresh ingredients. Mushroom gnocchi delicious and imaginative, not too heavy. Both had cod for our mains; large succulent fillet with delicate and tasty fennel and leak accompaniment. Shared sticky toffee pudding with stem ginger ice cream that was perfect for fighting away winter blues. Staff friendly and efficient. We will be back.

Excellent food, wonderful friendly service. Great busy bustling atmosphere. Rarely do we eat three courses any more but here we did. Mussels with Cider, not ground breaking but delicious. Salmon cured with gin again not unique but very good. Presa Iberica was delicious, beans could have been improved with some chorizonor pancetta and some crunch on the plate would have... More

We ate on a Saturday evening when the place was full and buzzing. The staff were immediately warm and welcoming and remained on top form throughout. Decisions as to what to eat are made easier by having a small but perfectly formed menu - gin infused salmon was a particular treat for starters. Nice wine list too that unusually also... More

We visited on Saturday evening for the first time and we wasn't disappointed it's a great little place full of atmosphere. The food is top notch and different we really enjoyed it. The Catch of the Day was Lemon Sole which was cooked to perfection and the Lamb was also great but my wife had to ask for it to... More
