Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stumbled across the Quayside bar and kitchen while walking along the quay. Both had an amazing sea bass, that was one of the specials. Staff was very accommodating and substituted the menu potatoes for another choice without a problem. Had fish and chips the previous...night at a ranked place and there was no comparison. The sea bass was two GBP more expensive but an order of magnitude better in quality.More

Walked in with my 9 year old busting for the loo. Hubby was getting parked was going to stay for drinks. Wasn’t even asked if we were purchasing drinks. Took my daughter to the loo first before placing a drinks order. Was heckled by bar...staff, explained we were going to loo first, was called an awful cow, in front of my 9 year old. So turned and left, went across the road to No.1 was met with warmth and stayed for nibbles and drinks with lovely welcoming hosts/bar staff. Avoid if you want to be judged straight off the bat and abused in front of your children.More

Perfect roast dinner, the best service we have received in Whitstable! The live music was incredible and the atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. The bar manager is our new best friend after running out to us in the road to return our umbrellas to us...the next day! We can’t wait to come backMore

The pub itself was okay, however the food or rather the dish I had chosen was awful. Hunters Chicken. It was tough and dry with congealed cheese and I presume barbecue sauce. Having said that, everyone round the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I should...have complained on the spot and now wished I had. We had pre-booked and were waited on with friendly staff, and for that reason they deserved the five stars but let themselves down with my chosen dish.More

Very nice pub indeed. We had lunch at this lovely pub in whitstable. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent with the pricing of the menu reasonable too. The fish was fresh and huge, piping hot, and tasted delicious. We would...recommend this pub highly, great place to eat or just have a drink.More

Amazing atmosphere, food & beverages. After choosing to go to the Quayside on our first day, we decided to go everyday. The food is so good, 😋 One of whitstable prized gems! 💎

Our 2nd visit this year and it didn't disappoint us. Great service and tasty food. 2 of us had the Ploughman's Lunch which was very filling indeed....the only disappointing item on the plate were the soft pickled onions...not at all crunchy. My sister- in- law...is vegan so she selected the pumpkin and sweet potato curry with rice. She said it was absolutely delicious...but we all agreed thr portion could have been a bit bigger. The points above should not detract you from visiting...the food is VERY goodMore
