Visited Whitstable for the weekend and ended up in this boozer. Slightly out of the way, but had a friendly welcome and the beer garden is great if you have little ones - huge play area for them. Must agree with other reviews that mention...an old fashioned drink selection though. Our choice was between mass produced larger (Moretti or Stella), a very dated bitter, Guinness, some kind of terrible fruit cider and...that was it! No IPAs/pale ales, let alone anything more adventurous than that like saisons. Could be a real find if they offered a bit more.More

I love this pub - great outside area, friendly staff. But! Needs at least one modern style beer - something like a Camden Pale Ale, or even a Shepherd Neame Bear Island. Please! We end up going into town to get a taste of craft...beer - but would much rather spend our money locally here. After a while Moretti, Stella, Amstel and and Sussex Bitter gets dull.More

I was pleasantly surprised to have such a good quality burger and freshly cooked chips. the other people in the party had fish which was they said cooked in a nice crisp batter and not too greasy. Portions were ample. The burger was really good...came with onion rings and was proper meat (and I do know what I’m talking about when it comes to burgers🐽). Even better it was part of the beer and burger deal for 12 quid Monday to Thursday 12 o’clock to 8:30 pmMore

We visited on Sunday for a roast dinner. The meal was delicious. We were on bikes so were very pleased when we realised we could enjoy the garden and table service. The staff were excellent. The young members of the team were friendly, chatty and...full of enthusiasm. How refreshing! The Biscoff cheesecake is to die for! Well done Monument, you’ve nailed it. We will be back!More

We had dinner last night at The Monument as a group of 12. We had a couple of young children with us so despite the food being really tasty and every member of staff being so helpful and friendly it was a little awkward having...to leave out the back as there was a stripper in the bar! 🤷🏽‍♀️More

I think they have a party menu as they were catering for a local company group when we were having lunch. Give them a call and I am sure they can help. Also a group of about 12 people from a local firm had just had lunch... More

Don't thinks so in the restaurant area, may be allowed in the bar area but not where people are eating.
