Had another fantastic meal at JoJos. We started with the vegetarian mezze (half) which is more than sufficient for 2 but would easily be enough for 3. ( I eat a lot) I then ate a half calamari followed by the grilled sardines with chorizo, samphire and peppers. Superb ! My wife ordered the cauliflower cheese with Red Leicester, this failed to turn up but to be honest she was rather full from the mezze. She had 2 glasses of champagne, we shared a bottle of red (Malbec Mendoza) and I had 1 craft beer. 2 coffees, no desert but you get some cheese on the mezze which we enjoyed at the end of the meal. After removing the cauliflower cheese ( they were very apologetic) the bill came to £99 before tip.
Great food, great service and a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant. This is our second visit and will now become one of our go to restaurants.

My son has special needs and due to the currant situation with the Coronavirus is limited as to where he can go. We usually go out for lunch every fortnight so I emailed this lovely restaurant to ask about a take away. Nikki was extremely helpful. On arriving to collect I was greeted by a friendly guy at the bar who offered me a drink and said to take a seat whilst I waited for the food. Nikki came out and instead of the usual tin foil take out containers or plastic tubs she brought the food out on proper plates, ramekins etc covered with foil and a asked me to return them whenever I was passing.
Food was amazing, very tasty and fresh. Will be going there for lunch once things get better.
I would like to thank Nikki and the team for putting a smile on my sons face.
See you again soon xx

Absolutely loved it here. Lovely, friendly staff and the food was amazing, great combination of flavours, everything fresh and delicious and yummy cocktails. We came with lots of allergies and fussy children between us and everybody left happy. The home made fried gnocchi were amazing - and the spinach peas and samphire dish so fresh, it was like eating a seaside garden. Delicious mackeral and chorizo too. The ice cream flavours were amazing and desserts are generously portioned. There's a great buzzy atmosphere but all the tables are spaced out so you have your privacy too. The decor is really fun and eclectic. It's right by the sea and it was great to glance out of the window as the weather got worse and then better again. They are extremely clear in their booking and their follow up confirmation emails that they need us to wear masks when not sitting at the table. We were completely happy to. All their Covid secure measures, including masks, hand sanitiser and keeping to max 6 people meant we all felt safe including our elderly parents. We had a fantastic afternoon and would love to go back one day.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime. It’s a large floor space, plenty of room between the tables, and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff are really knowledgable and friendly. We weren’t rushed at all. We ate a selection of dishes between the four of us including lamb koftas, bavette steak, potato bravas, mixed salad with feta, pitta with tzatziki, and my personal favourite white cabbage cooked in white wine, cream and Parmesan, with walnuts. It was so tasty, and will be the way I prepare cabbage at home in future! The dishes come up when they are ready, much like Tapas, but the portions are larger. We finished with a cheese board which had such a great selection of cheeses. They have a good wine list, do a mean mojito, and we will happily return next time we are in the area.

My husband and I stumbled upon Jojo’s and loved it. Lovely, rustic interior with a fire, bar and gorgeous sea views, even on a drab afternoon.
The food was immense and we took our leftovers home. The gnocchi was divine as was the basic house salad, cod goujons, taramasalata and aubergines with halloumi.
We were a bit miffed by the sliced chorizo at £8.50 and were expecting thick, chunky pieces, but maybe we had eyes bigger than our stomachs. Nevertheless, a little gem that we will visit again when we are back down south.

Nice place & atmosphere, overlooking the sea. Service mostly excellent. Hadn't been for a while. We had the mixed tapas platter. It was ok but wasn't cheap and I'd expected more than just cold stuff, meats, dippy bits bread, a bit of cheese and a few olives. Not proper tapas at all.
Looking at the menu, what used to be (and tapas still is!) proper but small tasty dishes, are now individually priced at what most restaurants would charge for a full plate. If you want a good range of the original small tasty portions, still a few euro's in much of Spain, it'd likely add up to over £100! Mostly posh London prices now. But worth a try if you're feeling flush.

From the outside to be honest JoJo’s didn’t look that interesting. On walking in there was a wonderful ambiance with the lighting, decor and smiling staff and it was much larger that it looked from the outside. Staff were wearing masks and we were asked to sanitise hands on entering. Tables were spaced well apart. We booked in advance and had to pay a deposit but were completely happy to do so. Thoroughly enjoyed the mezze platter which was beautifully presented. The flash fried steak and Patatas bravas as a main were equally delicious and filling. Really pleased with the quality of the food, service, surroundings and value for money. Would recommend.

We had a lovely meal as a family of four - sourdough bread and oil/balsamic, chorizo, Serrano ham, hummus and pitta, pea risotto, lamb koftas and manchego cheese - all absolutely delicious. With baklava and cinnamon ice cream for dessert.
Service was excellent - tap water kept being topped up, dishes arrived at a good pace and there was a nice bustling atmosphere.
Prices very reasonable for quality of food so would definitely recommend

My wife and I went along to try the highly recommended JoJo's one Sunday afternoon recently and we were certainly not disappointed.
The restaurant is situated on Tankerton Bay in Whitstable and the views out to the bay from inside the restaurant are superb.
This is a meze, fish and meat restaurant and we decided to share a vegetarian meze platter for 2. We both like middle-eastern meze based food and have eaten it a lot, including in the middle-east. Nevertheless we have never had higher quality food of this type anywhere else before. I cannot recommend it enough.
Added to the quality of the food, it comes at a very reasonable price. Our shared platter cost £35 and the cost of desserts and wine was also very reasonable. The service was very friendly and efficient.
Finally, proprietor Paul is a very engaging and convivial host and putting all of this together we came away fulsomely satisfied and very impressed. Do give this place a try if and when you can. I'm sure you'll not be disappointed.

We had JoJo’s on our shortlist on our first trip to Whitstable and came across it by chance in time for lunch. Although fully booked inside we were lucky enough to find a free table outside and what a treat it was. We chose sardine and calamari dishes from the bar menu with a few trimmings and it was all delicious. Smiling service was very quick and the ambience of sitting outside on a lovely day within sight of the sea was just perfect. Inside looked really nice and we would definitely go back on our next visit.
One caveat I should mention is that previous reviews only a few days before our visit on 10th Sept described reassuring COVID precautions. That was the main reason JoJo’s was on our list. Strangely there was little evidence of this apart from the indoor tables being properly spaced. Only one staff member wore a mask, I realise it’s not mandatory but many restaurants do use masks anyway. As far as we could see tables got little more than a quick wipe with no spray between use. Congestion at the entrance also felt uncomfortable. I was tempted to take a star off the review but this restaurant is otherwise too good. Hopefully all this won’t go on for too long and things will return to normal.

I thought the restaurant itself was great with lots of space although a bit noisy as there were lots of parties; however it was a Sunday. i thought that the food was fantastic, very special and innovative but totally let down by the service. very rude and abrupt waitresses. This just would not happen in London. Such a shame really also the portions were just too big for tapas really shared 2 dishes for to and were very full.

Ate at JoJo's Friday night in early September. Was first visit post lockdown. They had it all very well sorted to such a level that the restrictions didn't impact at all on our dining experience. They have removed some tables to allow for the correct spacing. You do need to book in advance and they start taking reservations two weeks before. They are especially good at fish and sea food but do also cater for meat eaters. I think is good value.

We were seeking something a little different for my son's birthday this year, and got it!
Swiftly escorted to our table on arrival (after being asked to take appropriate COVID precautions), it immediately felt comfortable with a large table well away from others. Atmosphere was big, bright and airy
Service was quick and friendly, with a little extra time spent explaining the menu for us first timers.
The online menu is supplemented by 15-20 specials, which I guess change with the season / availability. We went for the large Mixed Meze and three other dishes, which was perfectly adequate for the four of us (although we left a little room for pud)!
Tastes were simply amazing - every mouthful brought different flavours and surprises, with the skill and care in preparation, and the freshness of the ingredients shining through.
Although busy, staff were helpful, cheerful and friendly throughout.
As we were coming to the end of the meal, the sun was on its way down over the beach just outside. There was no charge for this additional delight.
We shall most definitely be returning - there are many other items on the menu that have piqued my interest.

After seeing the reviews and having been recommended by our airbnb we booked a table on Saturday night. The team who run this restaurant were so welcoming and we really enjoyed chatting with them. They're a credit to this place!
Now for the food - we ordered 4 plates between two of us and that was plenty. It was delicious and a real variety was available, all of which was good quality.
Our favourite was the gnocchi, not what we expected gbocchi to look like. But they turned out to be little golden balls that tasted like heaven. Or a party in my mouth....
We finished dinner and ordered some cocktails to go and sat across the street to watch the sunset. Top tip, bring a sweater.
We would come back in a heartbeat.

We were in whitstable for a week in July 2021 and this was without doubt the best meal we had, which Is no mean feat as there are lots of excellent restaurants in the area. On top of the delicious food, the restaurant had a great vibe with the open kitchen set up and the waiting staff were very attentive and polite. Lovely experience, thank you!
