Called in with friends for an evening meal. The room was very cold and the service was lacking this time having eaten here many times before and and had good experiences. Seems to me that complacency has set in.

We we so lucky as this place is booked for weeks and weeks in advance but managed to book on Friday for space at the bar for lunch the next day. So pleased we did. We had a real mix of dishes and everything was amazing. Lobster lasagne was a hit. Crab meat was delicious. Meze and home made bread... More

Greeted by a friendly staff. The scallops was succulent and sweet, and their housemade pesto sauce was DELICIOUS with the bread.

Walked in for an oyster craving. The quality of the product and the friendliness of the staff was second to none. Will come back soon and for a full meal. Menu looks amazing.

Meeting up with my brother who lives in Whitstable, he booked (3-months in advance) as he recommended this brilliant restaurant. The food was superb, the atmosphere cosy and friendly, and, even though I am not a fan of Oysters, there was plenty of choice. It was a great reunion and I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had: scallops with pork belly and crackling, apple purée and apple compote: one mezze of tempura cod, spicy prawns with chilli dipping sauce, squid rings, smoked salmon, tartare sauce and brown bread; salmon fish cakes; and a litre of sparkling water. £30 plus 10% tip. The food was delicate, tasty and perfectly cooked. The tempura was light and glassy,... More

I wasn't looking forward to my visit to wheelers as I don't like shellfish and I'm not a massive fan of fish in general. How pleasantly surprised was I. We had a lovely family meal in this small quirky restaurant and I had the tastiest of food, I would highly recommend the mezze and smoked haddock. The deserts were also... More

This small, but perfectly formed, restaurant is always fully booked. Phoning up a week before our visit we were given the option of eating at 5.00 or after 9.00. We opted to take 4 seats at the counter at 5.00pm. I am not complaining as we were pleased that we were able to get any table at any time. On... More

You need to work at getting a reservation at this place because it is still a tiny cottage - the original building in fact - and there are only a small number of tables available. When you do succeed you end up hoping fervently that it will never change. The quality of the fish here is outstanding and then the... More
