After waiting for 2 sausage and mash and a burger, we waited 75 minutes and then a burnt burger turned up first. I had already had 2 pints and wasn’t warned how long we would have to wait. I was starving and when my grandson...said the burger was burnt we walked out. They at least let us off the drinks and promised a free meal. That email never turned up. As locals, we know the food can be good and the roasts looked good (we were happy they had run out) but we felt more like a punter rather than a valued customer who was there for a meal experience. We then went to Kebab Bexley where my grandson had a lovely burger - much bigger, not burnt and for half the price.More

Having been to this nice pub many time over the years, I took some friends for Sunday Lunch. I've enjoyed all visits before and the food and service has been good! We ordered drinks, a starter of bread and our mains. We noticed how unbearably...hot it was. Neighbouring tables were also commenting. I asked our waiter if the air con could be turned on. He also agreed it was hot and said he'd look into it. After 15 mins or so it was still very warm and I asked if we could move tables. Our waiter said there were no free tables but he managed to crack a window for us, much to the delight of our table and those around us. About 30 mins into sitting and after our starter... our waiter asked as if we'd like dessert. I mentioned that our mains had not arrived. He apologised and said he'd chase up. The apologising and chasing up happened for another 40 mins... with our mains arriving over an hour after we ordered. We were offered free drinks as an apology but refused as none of us wanted / needed any more alcohol. The food was great and well received after waiting so long! When the bill arrived we mentioned we would not be paying the service charge due the exceptional wait time. This was when our friendly waiter stopped being friendly. Grumpily went off and got an updated receipt. Was curt and deliberately not friendly anymore. Although the wait was not his fault... we should not be expected to pay for poor service - waiting 70 mins for food is not acceptable in any restaurant. Asking for our dessert orders without realising we were still awaiting mains was poor. I rarely quibble when paying service charge but was taken aback that his attitude turned. I would hesitate in returning as we really felt part of a cog... pleasant enough but not really caring about our experience and certainly not caring about how long we had to wait.More

Amazing food and the perfect atmosphere. The Kimchi fritters and braised bed croquettes are a must. What a hidden gem in Wilmington

We returned to this local pub to enjoy the chicken skewers with loaded chips. The food did not disappoint and the service by Poppy was attentive without being overbearing. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

The food took ages and was not far from a Burger King on a plate and a chip basket but for a lot more money and no garnish. This is my local and yet again, standards have gone from pleasing to not being the cut...above other pubs. Will try again once the menu is revamped and will monitor this when going for a beer.More

Food was very good, reasonably priced. Good vegan and vegetarian options. Lots of drink options. Only issue we had was it was very loud and difficult to have a conversation. We were sat in the restaurant and I think there was a live band through...by the bar. In the restaurant it felt that we needed to shout to have a conversation.More

Visited with my family today as this Pub is very dog friendly. The food was lovely and the choice was nicely varied. The staff were excellent and helpful even though a large funeral party arrived unannounced! Good choice of tables in the large bar area....We stayed for a few hours and this was a problem as the lunchtime customers had dwindled away and the staff were happy for us to sit and chat with coffees! We have been before because it’s so dog friendly so we’ll done and thank you all.More

Went turned up here on mass today after a friends funeral. The pub had no prior notice and it was a very impromptu visit - but with the limited staff and short notice they served us all great and provided 1st class food to those...who wanted it. Lovely pub , super food & great accommodating staff. Definitely recommendMore

I ordered the ‘gourmet burger’ but this is a very inaccurate description of what I was served. I was served a very small burger in an oversized bun with stale chips. The presentation was poor, there was no garnish on the plate and so it...looked very bare. At £16 it was not good value for money and I shall think twice about returning.More

We've frequented this place on numerous occasions, but this visit stands out as our most disappointing experience by far. To say that we were let down would be an understatement. At 8 pm on a Saturday evening, approximately 50% of the items we requested were...unavailable. It was evident that someone had failed to stock enough to meet the demands of a Saturday evening. The service for our drinks was slow, and our disappointment deepened when we were informed that three desserts weren't available. Hoping for an alternative, we requested some cheese, as we had observed another diner enjoying it earlier. Shockingly, we were told that since we hadn't ordered from the festive menu, cheese was not an option. With most items from the main menu also unavailable, we wondered why alternatives weren't offered instead of an outright refusal. That night, I expressed my dissatisfaction and, honestly, contemplating a return doesn't seem worthwhile. The overall quality has taken a significant nosedive, and the atmosphere doesn't compare to what it used to be.More

The night did not start off great as the surly General Manager needs to go to charm school. At point of booking I was very specific as we had to consider a member of our party that uses a wheelchair. These needs were partially met...but there was no friendly apology and she could barely bring herself to even seem bothered. My friend walked the not needed chair the length of the dining room which quite frankly they should have done for us. On to the food and uninspiring menu. Portions are really tiny for what you pay. My pate was tasty enough there just wasn’t enough of it. My main was haddock with spinach and a very nice chive sauce. This was delicious but it was so small and needed either more or something else on the plate. In contrast our friends ordered the fish and chips and this came out huge! Whilst it was big the batter looked very thick and arduous, they said it was just ok. Puddings were good to be fair and piping hot in contrast to what other reviews have said. Drinks are pricey and not always served in the correct glass which is an irk of mine. All in all we didn’t feel it was good value for money. We last came during and around Covid and felt exactly the same then. We had hoped that things might have changed but sadly not. What I will say is that our waitress was very nice, friendly & hardworking she is a credit to them. It’s just the food and Management that needs changing. This is a shame as we have used this place for many years but less so in recent years. It’s just no longer any good sadly. We won’t be returning anytime soon.More

Not having visited for a while, we thought we would try it again. The restaurant is comfortable and the staff very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food was a great disappointment. I ordered the lamb cassoulet, the small quantity of meat was inedible, gristly and...fatty and I had to delicately remove it from my mouth. The friendly waitress came over to ask the usual, is everything alright? I told her the meat was inedible and she looked concerned and said she would tell the kitchen. My partner chose the steak and ale pie. The pastry lid was rock hard and he had trouble cutting into it. Very small meat content. We both then had the fruit crumble and custard which was ok, but could have been warmer and have more custard. When we got the bill I was expecting the waitress to say something about the gristly meat, perhaps a reduction on the bill, but, no, nothing said. Our total bill, with two drinks each and service charge, came to over £73, which for what we had I thought was expensive. We paid and left. It will be a very long time before we visit again.More

We went for a meal on Sunday. We waited over an hour and when we eventually got our meals they were cold and basically inedible, the vegetables arrived (after we asked for them) half an hour after the meal. We complained and the manager was...very condescending. A big disappointment as we were celebrating a birthday and it was spoilt by the standard of the food.More

Still so so, we haven’t been here for a while because of the food and unfortunately it’s still hit and miss, mostly miss! The plus is the kids meal is good value. The experience we had wasn’t fab, we ordered a chicken Caesar burger and...it was cold, the bun was on the burnt side and the Parmesan was finely grated not shavings, along with over cooked chips there was nothing else on the plate. The pepperoni pizza with rocket arrived without rocket, when we asked the waitress where it was she returned to the table to say ‘just so you know it doesn’t come with rocket’ despite the menu online and in the restaurant stating rocket. How about I’m sorry this is a menu error, they hadn’t run out we saw plates on other tables with rocket! Lax info, lax attitude, lax service and they don’t care, spend your money elsewhere and get what you order with genuine care.More
