Myself and three friends visited for a birthday lunch. The waiters and service were excellent. We had calamari( tasty but looked a bit pale), houmous( was delicious and tomato garlic bread. For mains we had sea bass, chicken, lasagne and paella. The first three were...very nice and decent portions but the paella di terra was disappointing ( IMO). Wished I closed an alternative. The singing for “ happy birthday” gave out friend a lovely surprise and they all gave 110% ! Lovely ambience, welcoming and comfortable. Will certainly go again!More

Having recently moved back to the area, we are still exploring eateries – Luciano’s will definitely be a new ‘go to’ for us. The exterior still retains the look of its country pub origins - inside, it is classy, fine dining with some unique characterful...touches (vespa scooters, black piano etc). The staff (all Italian) were very welcoming, friendly, and attentive without being overly intrusive. They dealt well with hubby’s allergy. The pace of the meal was well-judged. The Italian focused and varied menu had lots of familiar favourites and some dishes we have not tried before. For a three-course meal, the portion sizes were generous (not tiny Michelin Tasting size) but not over-facing either. I choose the goats cheese bon-bon (if I was being hyper-critical, these could have been a little crispier, and the beetroot jam was a tad on the sweet side for me). Hubby had the deep-fried breaded aubergine - I am not normally a fan of this particular vegetable but this was absolutely delicious and not at all oily, although the portion size would have defeated me! My pulled shoulder and belly pork was sublime – with deep caramelisation on the outside, soft and succulent in the middle (to be hypercritical there was a bit too much mustard mash which I found a tad vinegary). Hubby loved his seabass fillets which was cooked perfectly - still moist (very difficult to achieve in the UK as the fish tend to be on the thin side). We also managed to share a tiramisu – very light and not too bittier or sweet. Great Shiraz for the money – far too more-ish!!! All in all, despite the very picky comments above, this was a near perfect meal warranting 5 stars. We will definitely be back for a relaxing lunch and a romantic dinner. There is a fixed price 2 or 3 course (with a traditional roast option on Sunday). The venue is very flexible for all sorts of occasions. If you are wanting a quiet meal, you should probably check in advance for any special events in its garden and play area etc. Plenty of parking.More

I love Lucianos . Staff attentative and always polite. Vibrant atmosphere. The last time I visited was an evening with my husband The food was amazing. Unfortunately on this occasion we were was disappointed with the standard of the food . It wasn’t as hot...as I would have liked and the fries were greasy. My husband chose seafood paella because of his previous experience , but sadly it was not to be . I will visit again , need to be more honest in future when staff check in with us .More

We booked last Sunday for our wedding anniversary lunch which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We deliberately didn't go for the a la carte menu but chose the set Sunday lunch menu which turned out to be really nice. A broccoli tasty soup followed by chicken...breast and mushrooms in again a tasty sauce with French fries on the side.. We can recommend Lucianos by the Millstone -the environment is very clean and extremely tastefully decorated all round. The manager and his waiters are very attentive too. We would have given 5 stars though if the wait between courses had not been just a tad too long but we are splitting hairs there. The main entrance doesn't match the interior by any means but it is a very old pub with history. Beautiful and welcoming inside though and the black grand piano and Vespa scooters really give Lucianos character. We will come again certainly in the near future- probably in an evening.More

A beautiful well presented restaurant, the staff were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The lounge area to start off the meal was a lovely setting and allowed for a relaxing drink before the meal started. The food was fresh and delicious, there was a...wide variety of choice with something for everyone in our party. Overall we had a great, tasty meal and believed it offered good value for money.More

Visited on the evening of Saturday 23rd December after making a booking online for 3 of us a week or so before. On arrival they were obviously very busy so we didn't have high expectations. However, the service was amazing. Very friendly, attentive and efficient....There was plenty of choice menu-wise, including Starter/Main/Dessert specials and Cocktails/Wine specials too. Food and drink was fantastic and reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be booking again!More

Booked Luciano’s for my wife’s 30th birthday. Maurizio and his team were superb throughout the experience and their singing of Happy Birthday was a highlight. The perfect food and atmosphere for the occasion.

Our Son and Daughter in Law held their wedding reception at Luciano’s and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were wonderful, efficient, friendly and professional. The Chef made a beautiful Italian style wedding cake which looked amazing and tasted divine. The buffet food...was delicious, with something for everyone. Although the reception was held in the bar area it never felt as though we were sharing the space with other customers, it was a very relaxed, cosy and comfortable atmosphere. All the guests said how impressed they were with Luciano’s. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day so special. I am sure we will visit again soon to dine in the restaurant.More

Popped in on Saturday afternoon after a bit of retail therapy in Bolton. I'd driven past so many times and wondered what the restaurant was like as we love trying new places Suberb is the only word that adequately describes this place It is a...genuine Italian, staffed by many italians who understand service perfectly We tried the Scallops started with a cauliflower cream sauce followed by the Tagliatelle Carbonara We have recently come back from Rome and Venice this year and these two dishes surpassed meals we had in both Italian cities The decor and ambiance is excellent. Delivery of dishes was timely. It is definitely a venue for a romantic meal for two, or a celebration for a family group I will be back very soonMore

We were a group of 4 girls visiting our friend who lives nearby. We all Flight Attendants who have travelled extensively. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. From the moment we arrived .. taking our coats, sitting...us by the fire. We ordered a bottle of wine within seconds 4 glasses were in front of us. There was a lady singing who was fabulous. The atmosphere was brilliant. The food was amazing. Aranchi balls were 😍. Everything was wonderful. You have the most amazing staff who clearly enjoy their jobs all smiling and willing to go above and beyond to give everyone a great night. When you work in customer services you notice all the small things and your staff all deserve 5 stars we had a brilliant night. Singing happy birthday for our friend was the icing on the cake. I wish this restaurant was down south where I live… so many restaurants could learn a lot from you. Thank you for a fabulous night.More

This is our first time at Luciano's, despite only living a mile or two away. This was a last-minute booking and we really weren't disappointed. The first thing that hits you is how friendly and welcoming the staff are, and the atmosphere which is superb....We opted for just main courses, and I had Maialino Croccante, while my wife had Filetto Surf and Turf. Both meals were superb. The belly pork on mine was so tender and the black pudding balls were a perfect accompaniment. The Filetto was done to perfection and just melted. Coming here tonight was like getting a winning ticket after our original restaurant screwed up. In all fairness, this was far better then we could hope for. The Möet Champagne was chilled beautifully too. We have to say a big thanks to Francesco, our 'guy' tonight. This is how service should be..attentive, not overbearing, and it made us feel special. The finale was a Happy Birthday serenade to my wife! Fantastic, guys! Many thanks! I so recommend this place, VERY much!More

We visited Luciano's as part of a wedding reception last weekend - it was one of the best weddings we've been to!! The welcome was so warm and friendly, and staff were amazing throughout. The food was amazing!! Everything was so delicious and tasty without...being over powering in flavours. Portions were so generous. The drinks were also great, the prosecco especially was perfectly light and fresh. Decor was lovely, comfortable and cosy. The location seemed good, easy to get to with plenty of parking and a nice outdoor area. We can't wait to visit again - the food was delicious and everything was made even better as the staff treated us like like they were genuinely trying to make sure we all had the best day.More

Came here on a Monday evening and the place was super busy which is always a good sign Another thing I noticed was how friendly and professional the staff were, the restaurant and bar area are spotlessly clean and the decor is perfect. I can't say with certainty but I'm fairly sure there's more than gluten free dish. It's worth contacting the restaurant directly - they're always very helpful.
