Great food, inexpensive, decent service and a good night out

Top quality restroom is top quality food. My favourite one is the Balti Stan special which is out of this world and by far the best curry I’ve had anywhere in the UK and I also think the mix starter and meat samosas are also brilliant. The staff are very attentive and will do anything to help out the owner. Harun is a top-notch block and is always there to just check to make sure everybody is happy as he is very attentive. Yes there are a few comments about it being a little bit cold, but with the rare of inflation on gas and electricity at around 300% over the last 2 to 3 years it’s not surprise he put up his prices massively or has to court with managing the smart as possibly when it is very cold outside and if the place isn’t necessarily full then it’s very difficult to keep the whole room heated inexpensively. My friends come over from Blackburn and Burnley and I travel at least eight or 9 miles to get there and we think it’s my father best value of the curry house in the East Lancashire area if you’ve not tried it, I would definitely recommend it and follow my Balti Stan , special and samosas and I think you can’t go wrong

Tasty with the best service ever, service like it should be by seasoned professionals

Expensive but incredibly tasty foods, we opted for the buffet, where lots of different dishes can be tried and you can eat as much as you like. The service was second to none. I had not been here for years but i was remembered and welcomed like a regular customer. The service was as it should be, polite and efficient. Would recommend this tasty Indian restaurant which has now been serving delicious foods for over 28 years!

Absolutely Faultless

I've not had a takeaway in some time and this is the first time in a long time I've not been disappointed. I've not eaten at Balti Stan for several years and after moving to the area I tried it for a Saturday night takeaway. It was delicious! We ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras and a Chicken Tikka Karahi with Garlic Naans. I couldn't fault it. The sauce was plentiful and not watery, the chicken was good quality thick pieces really well cooked. The naan bread was good sized, not burnt or under cooked. I also ordered a Balti Special starter that was delicious. It cost a total of £30 exactly which I thought was good value for money. I'm looking forward to going back and trying something different.

Shocking service, rude waiters freezing cold.

Went for a birthday meal 15 people in total right from the start it was a very poor experience. 15 people made to sit in the waiting area for 20 mins, we was the only people in and I can see why. We had to ask to be seated. The bar prices are an absolute rip off £17.40 for a double vodka and a pint disgraceful can get cheaper in London. It was absolutely freezing inside people had to keep their coat on to keep warm. Asked to turn heating on and just got a funny look. Service was absolutely awful, very rude, very pushy, one waiter was very arrogant, Food was ok but overall very bad experience. Overpriced, bang average food, rubbish atmosphere. Lot better places than this won’t return or recommend.

Absolutely furious!!! If I could give zero stars I would. I Rang up at 2pm and booked a table for me and my 2 boys at 5.30pm for the Sunday Buffet. I advised the staff member on the phone that the table was for 1 adult and 2 babies..no issue! I even rang at 5pm to ask if they had x2 highchairs (so that I wasnt bringing the pram and taking up lots of room)..yes no problem. I arrived and as soon as we came through the doors the manager came out and refused us service. Told me there was no tables. I told him I had rang hours previous to book, he said sorry we cant give you a table for just you and 2 babies we have the buffet on. So I told him yes thats why we're here and why we booked a table..for the buffet. I asked if he was the manager, he said yes. I explained I dont understand why I am being refused a table when I booked and the restaurant was pretty much empty. Then he said it was because my eldest was crying to which I said yes because he has autism and he doesnt like me putting him down on the floor, he likes to be carried at all times so once we get seated at a table he will be fine. He still refused us. Anyway long story short I was absolutely livid because I had wasted £6 on a taxi to be refused service to which the manager did pay the taxi fare back. (Which I know he only did this to hurry me out as he could see I was getting quite agitated). I ended up making my way to Hyndburn Bridge just down the road as the kids were hungry snd had not had any tea due to me planning to go to the Balti Stan but I CAN DEFINITELY say I will never return again to Balti Stan with or without my children. What shockingly rubbish customer service!!!! I fully recommend Hyndburn Bridge, I've been a few times and they're more than welcoming and accommodating. Now I didnt let the altercation with Balti Stan ruin our family night but I would definitely avoid if you're a single parent with a baby! What an absolute joke! Ps. Before anyone says 'its because the eldest was crying and its a restaurant where people want to enjoy there food'. The minute my eldest was sat on the seats near the entrance waiting for the taxi home he was silent and we was still refused a table. ++ the fact I have supervised in restaurants and also worked in hospitality for years so I thoroughly understand the situation. We wasnt even given chance to get through the door nevermind sit down and get settled before being refused service. I would of completely understood if we was sat at a table with my child causing a disruption to other customers. Seems they are very much money orientated and once they had seen I had a 2yr old and 6month old baby they refused a table in hopes they could cater for a bigger family and make more money. I have never once been refused service or entry to a restaurant or food place. I will be reporting this to the Trading Standards and also the Equality and Human Rights Commission for discrimination. I am absolutelt appalled at the service and embarrassed to say the least with the commotion the staff caused. I had roughly 5 staff members all stood behind the manager looking at me like some sort of criminal.

Family meal

Came here for 70th birthday meal for my mum. There were 13 of us. Excellent service and the food was outstanding. Pickle tray was good. Some of the sauces I’d never tasted before but they were good. All the different naan breads were cooked to perfection and the wines were in big measures, no half glasses here 😂. We all loved it.

This is my favorite curry house. The food is excellent you can taste the spices in every bite. The service and people are so friendly...they treat you like family. They pride themselves on customer satisfaction, even got me a Birthday card. Staff can't do enough for you make you feel welcomed and at home. The decor is relaxing but also quality decor, the glass etching on the seating are beautiful. The Sunday buffets are excellent value and they regularly do offers during the week and the reduction in price doesnt change the value and taste of the food. The food is always piping hot and there's always plenty of it. I always choose to go here on date nights or special occasions...and love the place and people :) Definetly a 5 star restaurant

Basic curries, slow service

When booking this meal my daughter did inquire about the use of monosodium glutamate as I have an intolerance to it, they said better not have the buffet, order from the main menu & they'd be able to make a curry without m.s.g. The waiter who served us didn't know what m.s.g was, he came back from the kitchen & said I could have a chicken tikka masala, never my first choice, but fine. Three were having menu meals & four having the buffet. Service was very slow but finally we had all got food. A quick ask round my 6 companions yielded an average of 3 stars, the food was OK but not great. Most of us said we wouldn't go again.

The service provided by the staff here is very good. They are so friendly and move rapidly to provide drinks and a menu. The food is constantly of a high standard both in quality of produce and also taste. My partner has a vegan diet, and they always accommodate her requirements. It is always an enjoyable experience.

Superb customer service.

Ordered a curry for takeaway from the online menu, downloaded from the website, asked for confirmation of the price and was informed that it was alot more than the online price. Went to the restaurant after a phone call to see why the price was different. Staff allowed me to show them how I had found the price for the meal, so I showed them on my phone. When the issue had been resolved, they agreed to provide the food at the price shown online, plus gave us 10% discount, free drink while waiting and extras with the order. This place serves the most amazing curry and the customer service is above and beyond normal levels of customer service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic curries and superb customer service.

Been coming to the Balti Stan on and off for many years. Food is just as good as ever. 6 of us tonight all enjoyed popadoms, starters and all had different main courses. Large portions, all very hot and really tasty. Excellent service from friendly welcoming people as ever. Thanks we really enjoyed it.

This is a little gem of a curry house. The food was excellent. They even gave us the opportunity to add or change the content of the food e.g. adding spice etc, when the food arrived you could taste the spices in every bite. The food was piping hot and there's was plenty of it.The service and people were so friendly...they treated us like their family. They obviously pride themselves on customer satisfaction, Staff can't do enough for you make you feel welcomed and at home. The decor was relaxing but also quality. Definitely a 5 star restaurant. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Balti Stan to anyone looking for a great Indian Restaurant

Had take out food last night. Very disappointed. Had chicken tikka masala. The colour was like nothing I'd seen before. A deep red...think velvet cupcake. Very salty. Also had chicken khari. The over-riding taste was hot spices, and this is a medium dish. Over powering unable to eat. So much chicken, but it was over cooked and not enough sauce. The boiled rice was cheap rice, more like the type used for rice pudding. Not a good experience for 40 quid.

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your food, but I am quite surprised about the comments about the above items, which I’m confused with. For example our chicken tikka masala is sweet and mild to medium so I don’t understand how it could be salty. Also we only use basmati rice for all our rice dishes on the menu. The chicken karai on our menu does not have excessive chicken because we cook it with onions and peppers. If you have any other queries don’t hesitate to ring the restaurant, we will sort it out ASAP. Thank you from BaltiStan Clayton Le moors.

high standards

We've been to the Baltistan restaurant several times during the lockdown period and during the 'eat out to help out' scheme. Tonight, we visited the take away. On all occasions, the restaurant has been very busy - packed at times, but despite this, they never rush the food out and drop their standards. None of us minded a bit of a wait at times, if it meant that the superb standard of food was kept up, which it always is. Well done to all the hard working chefs and waiters for keeping up the quality during this busy time.
