Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I drove past the Oddfellows a few months ago and as I live over 50 miles away in Southport, did a bit of research and then went for lunch today. When I mentioned to the lady who looked like the licencee, the people on an...adjacent table said, we are off to Southport for a birthday party and mentioned micro pubs I am very familiar with. Small world. What a magnificent locals pub, not that big on the ground floor, but a lovely bar and a few log burners, making it like your best friend. If I lived nearby, I would be in there every day. The lunchtime food was toasted sandwiches for both of us with a side of chips. My Croque Monsieur toastie was very good, but as a lover of mustard, could not taste any. I am not a lover of salad, but it was very nice in the dressing. My friend had Ribeye Steak and Cheese, the steak was great, but sadly the toast on the inside of the sandwich had been incinerated into a dark black. Why the chef sent this out is beyond me, it was not great. As we were on a schedule we decided not to return it. Lovely pub, the licencee and the later young lady server were great. Will we return again, yes, it is well worth a second chance.More

We chose Oddfellows for a birthday dinner after walking in Snake Woods. Good choice! Beautiful traditional pub with a warm welcome from the staff, especially for the dogs which were also welcomed. The food was cooked well and selection was excellent. A good choice of...quality drinks added to the enjoyment. Service was polite and helpful. An all-round good experience. If/when we are in the locality in future, we definitely know where to visit!More

We’ve always loved The Oddies and eat here most weeks. However, the new menu is well worth a mention! Stunning! May have to come twice a week to make sure we try everything! Love you guys! 🥰

What a great country pub. Lovely food and the staff ready with that welcome smile. Very dog friendly with a great atmosphere. Logs are stacked by the fire in readiness for the colder nights. Well done Tia and her team.

Had been recommended by people we met in Cornwall in the Summer so visited for Sunday lunch. All had roast lunch which was great, tasty and good portions. Found a small space for pudding which was equally as tasty. Staff were great, good to be...able to take our dog in as too hot in car. Would certainly recommend.More

Beautiful day so we decided to go out for tea We went to the odd fellows in Mellor. I couldn’t manage to book on line (my fault) Within 4 minutes they phoned me back and made a booking for me. The waitress could not have...been better, warm, helpful, attentive & witty She gets a 10. The food came, the starter was first class ,then the mains which were also absolutely delicious my partner’s food looked as good as mine so we swapped and it was just as good as mine , the same with the dessert. I don’t do reviews mainly because I don’t like to criticise others, so this is a one off , we go out to eat a lot and honest to god this was one of the nicest eating experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Good on ya , we will be back, thank you.More

The Oddfellows Arms is our favourite Pub/Restaurant and the most dog friendly. My wife and I, along with our Border Collie, had a delicious lunch, sharing a Surf and Turf starter. Our main courses were fish and chips and sea bass with risotto. The menu...is wide ranging and the food is excellent. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed, cosy and welcoming and is great for couples and families.More

There is a small car park opposite the pub. Be aware that the road is narrow and at busy times folk park in the road down the hill on the pub side - exiting the car park can be difficult as drivers tend to "forget" they are... More
