I called in at last minute before closing time and asked for a small fish and chips they were amazing . The batter on the fish was cooked to perfection.

Sunday lunch is just fantastic value and a delicious traditional lunch. Beef offered rare, medium or well done, vegetables are served separately and must mention the cauliflower cheese. Deserts are all homemade and you are assured of a warm welcome by the owners. We go...regularly from Nottingham and meet friends from LeicesterMore
Our first visit to The Anchor…meeting friends for a pre-Christmas meet up. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. We had pre-ordered our meals which when arrived. …we couldn’t believe our eyes. It was absolutely amazing and so tasty. Plenty of...choice and the brussels arriving on the stalk was certainly a talking point. Sweets were divine and nice to see different choices. One of our friends commented that it was the best meal she had all year !! We all had a really enjoyable evening and will definitely be meeting there again. Thank you.More
Went with friends who have previously been on steak night. I know steak can be expensive in pubs but this was well worth it! I have my steak Med-Well and this was perfectly cooked full of flavour and with juices.
This is my favourite pub for a Sunday roast, end of. Pub is quirky but landlord is witty, I like his dry humour. Always quick service and nice size portions.
Paul and Lisa are the heart of the community and run a brilliant pub with brilliant food. Simon is a talented chef and we’re lucky to have them in the village. There’s never a bad evening at the Anchor!
10 oz rib eye absolutely the bees knees. Beef pie scrumdidlyissious. Real home made chips. And added bonus the beer was excellent. Creamiest Guinness they know how to keep it and pour it.
Visited on way through to Desborough. The staff were friendly professional and attentive. Food was superb, couldn't finish it all.
Stunning gravy dinner with an extra jug of gravy! Lovely friendly service and delicious desserts. We will definitely come again.
We moved back to the area in April of 2021 after relocating from Cottesmore. We left friends at our old local behind and missed them terribly. Then we found Paul and Lisa at The Anchor and instantly hit it off. Although we haven't lived in...the area before we have family that have and to say they have accepted us is an understatement. We love going for pint most evenings and we regularly have their amazing steaks on a Thursday. Thanks for welcoming us and its so nice to have a landlord and landlady that cares for their customers. Keep up the great work both.More
We stumbled on the Anchor by chance when looking for somewhere, halfway between Nottingham and Leicester, to meet friends for Sunday lunch. Undoubtedly the best lunch we’ve ever had. Great value and such a warm welcome from Lisa, Paul. Roast sirloin of beef cooked to...perfection and served with an excellent selection of vegetables. Lisa’s cheesecake with its chocolate biscuit base just yummy. We need to diet for a week to prepare for our next visit!More
Marvellous to see this village local has come through the worst of Covid and continues to provide lovely food, competitively priced and served with a smile. Family gathering of 14 served efficiently and promptly to a great lunch. No rush. No complaints. 14 empty plates...and 14 very satisfied customers. Thank you.More
Had a fantastic evening Saturday night....beer festival event...the staff were fantastic..never stopped working and always smiling. The hog roast was delicious, the band Harken were amazing, had a wonderful evening.
Staff spot on, customer service fantastic. Staff look after customers and the service is brilliant. Follow all covid procedures 10/10
During the current situation the Anchor has adapted to make a brilliant environment for both dinning and enjoying a drink. The food served was absolutely sensational and the steak I had a 38oz tomerhawk was cooked to perfection. 100% will be visiting again
