We are a French couple and new résidentes in Lincolnshire. We were looking for a typical pub where we feel like at home... it’s done! We ate burgers and it was good (apart from we prefer when there is lot of sauce and salad). The...More

To discover that our experience did not reflect that of others. The food was ok but the surroundings didn’t feel loved or looked after. The table lamp on the windowsill was full of cobwebs and the loos looked like they needed a good clean too....More

Staying in the area we were recommended to this place by our B&B host. It was my partners birthday and we wanted somewhere dog friendly. We arrived early and were shown to our table. The menu choice was good. Food was piping hot and plentiful....More

Excellent Sunday lunch for 3 adults, a very limited menu, but we really enjoyed our fare. Nice clean surroundings, welcoming staff and a very reasonably priced bottle of wine (most unusual, as are accustomed to reasonably priced food and then being ripped off for wine)....More

Four of us had a meal at this pub and between us we had three different meals. Every one of them was delicious, cooked to perfection and nicely presented. Lovely friendly staff too. Would definitely come back here again.

Description
Situated in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a short distance from the picturesque market town of Horncastle. The Durham Ox is a charming, welcoming country pub, with friendly staff. Our traditional Sunday lunch is always very popular as are our bar meals. A full restaurant menu is available in our restaurant, which is cooked to perfection by our chef and we always try to source our food as locally as we can. Booking is always advisable. Come and warm up next to our roaring log fire, have a pint or two in our 'RAF corner' or perhaps a bar meal in the 'cow shed', a glass of wine in our garden, or why not treat yourself to a fabulous meal in our delightful restaurant. Which ever you choose you are always guaranteed a very warm welcome. Did we mention we also have a registered caravan site? Why not bring your caravan or motorhome and stay with us a little longer. We look forward to seeing you soon.
