A traditional English pub, airing on the side of being a restaurant. Decor is very much oldie worldly in the main part, with a lovely light and airy conservatory.The bar area has some very comfortable sofas and leather seats, the ideal place to have a relaxing drink or two.

Bird and the Barley is open again. Social distancing observed. Food still as good as ever. No draught beers yet but excellent bottles of beer.
Love the new decor throughout. Very light and inviting.

Considering you wrote 14 reviews on the same date I would say you get around a bit, if you look on google you will see that the toilets have last week been completely refurbished and I will assume that you have mixed up the Bird...More
First visit here with family after hearing good reviews and was not disappointed, greeted by a welcoming gentleman named Jay who directed us to our table and pointed out the specials of the day, lovely chap very engaging and polite, nothing was too much trouble...More
We called on the spare of the moment for a bar meal.
The lighting was very poor, we were placed in a corner out the way.

Why when you stoped eating the pie because it had mushrooms in it did you need confirmation from the waitress it had mushrooms in it.
Yes the steak pie has mushrooms in it and no it does not have more mushrooms than meat, our steak...More
Booked a table here last minute as we fancied a bit of a date night and we hadn't visited for a while.

We went with two of our friends. For a meal last night. As usual it was very good. And our friends really enjoyed it. The food was excellent. As was the service. A lovely cosy pub.
This was very close to my cousin's home so we had lunch there a couple of times.
The Grimsby Haddock & Chips is a must! We also had the steak pie, Bacon Chop - very tasty!
