We called in here mid - walk, and had a chat with a couple who had just demolished their steak and ale pies, and gave them the thumbs up. A good sign! Mrs B had the sea bass which she thought were excellent. It came...More

8 hungry walkers enjoyed a variety of really enjoyable meals at this pub on Easter Sunday afternoon. They arrived on very hot plates (much appreciated but seldom achieved at other places) and were cooked to perfection. The waitress was very good and connected with us...More

The bar/restaurant was by no means busy when we were there (one other couple eating and a single drinker), but the barmandidn't seem to be able to cope with the 'rush' and when he did communicate gave the clear impression that he would rather be...More

This is not just a pleasant pub meal. For us the food in the restaurant was amazing and the craic in the pub was grand. Come here if you can. A true little known gem.

We mad two visits over the last week and were presently surprised, a previous review marked it with a low score, but to be honest this must have been a really bad night at the pub. The Staff Food and Beer are really 'top notch'...More

We only went in for some drinks, although we had thought about food but quickly changed our minds after a less than friendly reception when we went inside.

Yes they are. Our dog joined us on the day, otherwise we’d have found somewhere else.

Description
The George and Dragon Inn is a timeless Victorian gastro pub nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park complete with a crackling log fire, traditional ales on tap, a patio with views of Pen Hill and rustic walls decorated with framed sketches. We couldn't think of a cosier place to settle in with a bottle of red than the George and Dragon Inn's down-to-earth dining room, and apparently we're not the only ones. With one AA Rosette under its belt, the restaurant is a popular spot for Sunday roasts, afternoon tea and hearty evening meals, and the modern British menu includes signature dishes such as the roast Nidderdale chicken breast served with smoked applewood risotto.
