My wife and I stopped here after walking along The Bay Beach with our dog. We passed the cafe on the way to the beach and thought it would make a great stop before driving back to our caravan.
Anyway, I suppose when writing this review I will need to mention what precautions have been put in place regarding Covid 19 also.
When you walk to the the front of the cafe there is a roped off/cordoned area for queuing and there is a sign informing you not to proceed to the seating area - I assumed so that access could be controlled by the staff; however we just placed our order (tea and cake) before sitting down. There was no member of staff controlling access to the seating area, other than from the serving hatch. There was hand sanitiser available at the counter before you go to the seating area.
The seats are adequately spaced out to maintain Social Distancing, which is good. The view from the seating area overlooking the beach is the big selling point for the cafe. You could sit here for ages looking at the amazing scenery. The seating area looked as though it had been recently painted and there were some nice flowers around the edge of the seating area which was a nice touch. I don’t think any of the seats was under cover, so be aware if the weather is not good.
The tea we had was in disposable cups which is standard due to Covid 19. The tea was great, just what we needed. The caramel slices were very good also - good sized portions. I cannot comment on the standard of food in general, although I did see someone eating a burger which looked okay.
When leaving it was hard to make out how you leave without walking by people queuing for entry to the cafe. My wife and I walked to the left on some grass to avoid going into the entrance queue, but I am not sure if this was correct.
Anyway, a cafe with a great view. Good cup of tea and cake to keep you going.

Half way between the car park and a beautiful beach, break the walk down or up by sitting outside with the most beautiful views over to Bempton Cliffs in one direction and Filey Brigg in the other, in this small cafe. A decent cup of tea, or instant coffee is just £1. Although a very limited menu, they have quite a selection of home made cakes and I tried the coconut and lime flan which was excellent and quite different from anything I've eaten before. Others were tucking into chips for which there was a wait while they cooked them fresh.

We followed the National Cycle route from Flamborough for brunch at this little cafe, 13 miles . The cafe is set in the most wonderful location overlooking the beach. Food is good basic cafe fair nothing fancy but great value, limited options for non meat eaters. I chose a tuna salad sandwich, my partner the full breakfast. I guess due to COVID they now have to serve everything in paper boxes and cups as I see from other images they used to use proper plates. We were blessed with excellent sunny day, just wish we had taken towels so we could have had a paddle in the sea as well.

We stopped here for chips after walking across a lovely dog friendly beach. The chips were hot and social distancing was in place but they were the only good things. We had to wait at least 15 mins for the chips to be served when others were being served quicker with chips on their orders. When we finally got them they were fried frozen chips that were very dry and tasteless. Overall a very disappointing visit.

We love the gap at hunmanby . And we love the beach cafe . Nowt fancy doesnt pretend to . What it does it does well x good service and great traditional breakfast for a fiver . And i might add that the home made cakes are excellent . So sad to see negative reviews on here from people who think they are Egon Ronay . Come on guys its a cafe ! If you want eggs benedict with freshly picked spinach on a bed of local organic lightly toasted bread then go pay for it elsewhere eh ?

Basic looking cafe but good stop off during your walk along the fantastic beach. Had cooked breakfast which was great value and cooked well with mug of tea for just over fiver- can’t go wrong. And absolutely fabulous view over looking long ate the of beach and out to sea- watched so many people, dogs and horses having a good time even though not the sunniest of days.

Very pleasant staff and stunning views from this little cafe. Outside there is tiered decking which provides beautiful views across the bay too. Particularly good in the summer months. The menu is basic and apart from jacket potatoes, chips, basic salad and Bourbon biscuits there is nothing else for vegans and vegetarians to enjoy. There is nothing imaginative about the menu which seems to be stuck in time. No plant based milk. No coffee machine to produce cappuccino or lattes. In fact the coffee here is the worst ever and I won’t purchase it again. I’d rather just have a herbal tea. With the popularity of good coffees I’m surprised better investment isn’t made. The prices are reasonable but then again it is basic food. Could be much better.

My wife and I, plus dog have visited Beach Cafe on many occasions as we walk from Filey for breakfast. The full breakfast is a good standard and at £5 is reasonable and the views are great. What's really disappointing and is that after a long walk there is no where to wash our hands and use a toilet. Surely this is a breach of health & safety, especially as we recover from a pandemic. Customers expect this basic facility and the sign outside the cafe requesting people to use the toilet facility up the hill to the car park for 20p is unacceptable.
P.S. the instant coffee is very poor.

I wrote a review back in October 2021 stating the quality of the food had deteriorated. We decided to visit again May 2022, hoping that the quality of the food had improved from October 2021. We are very pleased to say we were very happy with the quality of the food/ baking, also portion sizes, on our latest visit. We are so happy we can visit again when we have walked from Filey to Hunmanby Gap (1/2 way point) - this cafe breaks up our walk. We love to admire the beautiful views and relax with great food. Thank you.

But that's where it stops.
We used to come here for a traditional breakfast and milky coffee in a mug. Now all you get is breakfast in a box and coffee in a paper cup. Might as well go to McDonald's!
Staff so scared of covid they won't come out of the cabin.
Hunmanby beach cafe you need to come out of hiding and get back to normal. You were so good its such a shame 😔

Sadly disappointed with the service and lack of customer service now. Used to be second to none with ordering inside, food brought to your table as some of the stairs are hard to navigate for some even without hands full and tables cleared. Sadly today waited 35mins in the queue to order a sandwich and chips took an hour and 20mins to get it when it wasn't that busy. Shouted like a greasy cafe to pick it up from the door and told to bring back dirty pots. No customer service anymore and average food won't be rushing back 😒

We are local to Filey and visit this cafe every time we take a walk on the beach with the dogs. Before Covid lockdown the baking was exceptional quality, always tasty and fresh, also larger portions than they are this year, 2021. Every visit we have made lately the baking is poor quality, small portions, and not fresh - what happened to the traditional good quality baking? Last time we ordered a piece of Rocky Road and it was bland, hardly any traditional Rocky Road ingredients and looked dry and unappetising. The bacon and egg sandwiches are also sometimes over cooked, but most of the time still good and tasty. The baking side of the Cafe definitely needs addressing and bringing back up to the pre-Covid standards. Visitors also need the toilets re-opening. The view and setting is amazing.

Came across this little gem of a cafe after a very wet beach walk , no seating inside but thankfully the rain had stopped when we came across it. The hot drinks were just what we needed and warm apple pie and sponge cake hit the spot. It’s beautifully done with the decking and of course you have that lovely view of the beach, nice friendly service from the ladies, and our dog was pleased to see they did sausages for them!!!

What a hidden gem and had the most perfect day spent at the beach with friends and family. The costal views are breath taking with miles of beautiful sandy beaches. Filey is a 20 minute walk along the beach or the costal path and well worth a slow wander along. The staff at beach cafe couldn’t do enough for us and went out of their way to accommodate us. The cake selection is a must and the Victoria sponge is the best we have ever had, delicious. The food we ordered was plentiful, well presented and very tasty. We sat and ate our food on the decking over looking the sea and we couldn’t of asked for anything more. The toilets are a short walk up the hill and are spotlessly clean and well kept, well done to the man on the gate. I would 100% recommend a visit and we will certainly be back soon. Thank you to the lovely ladies at beach cafe and keep up the good work.

A traditional beach side cafe with great nosh at unbelievable prices.
No lattes, just good old fashioned milky coffees.
Simple, home cooked food with a perfect seating area looking down onto the beautiful beach and buck ton cliffs.
