Not eaten dinner or lunch here, but breakfast was very nice. Friendly place, not dog friendly. The evening menu looked good
After a so called renovation and turnaround over winter, this place is a huge disappointment - a lot worse than before. First, there has been a change of ingredient supplier. Whereas before the food was freshly prepared using fresh ingredients, this is no longer the...case. I saw the chef - who also seems out of his depth (eg why should customers wait an hour for a takeaway pizza when there is but a handful of customers in the restaurant) retrieve a bag of supermarket mozzarella from the fridge. Second, just to take the example of a pizza, the lack of preparation and attention to detail is again relevant. Third, pricing - I do think it’s expensive for what you get. Finally and probably most importantly, actually it feels inside like nobody really knows what they are doing or cares that much. I doubt the chef or staff have been fully trained. It’s all a bit gung-ho. I was going to suggest they offer a delivery service because that would be a great service for families who arrive late (check in is late as well in comparison to other operators) but actually I’d suggest patrons use another pizza provider until this place sorts itself out.More
A Restaurant in a nice little holiday bay, a real proper wood fired oven fitted and fresh tasty food...what could go wrong you may ask? Everything! Very poor layout of restaurant, young untrained staff and a chef that doesn't know the difference between a roast...tomato and a baked tomato. We got 4 pizzas to take out and they were raw on one side and burnt on other, some raw cherry tomatoes thrown on top making everything watery. They where supposed to be oven roasted and when I phoned to complain I felt like I was talking to a dummy... apparently that's how you roast tomatoes, just by throwing them on top of the pizza!! I would never step foot on this place again! Overpriced, clueless and an offence to everyone that really knows what Italian food should look and taste like!!More
Lovely Italian set within the Bay at Filey, an attractive holiday village we’ve visited several times as an extended family group. You don’t have to be on holiday or staying at the Bay to enjoy the great pizzas and pasta dishes here though. Went for...a calzone this visit and was not disappointed! All starters delicious too and very good value for the quality of the food. You’d go quite a long way to find such authentic and tasty pizzas on the North Yorkshire coast, in my opinion. Definitely recommended and will hopefully be revisiting soon myself!More
Tonight we visited Lorenzos after staying on site all week and wanting to have a special final night! Prior to coming down to lorenzos we looked at reviews and they didn’t seem all that great but how wrong were they! We had the most fabulous...evening with beautiful pizzas (I had the stagioni, it is a must if you visit) and lasagne, served by friendly, attentive staff who couldn’t do enough for us! We will definitely be returning again next year! Well done LorenzosMore
Just been in with our grandaughter. Great pizza and desert. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent highly recommended.
Food is cooked fresh on ordering so expect a wait for it to cook. Worth waiting for though! Generous portions and relaxed atmosphere. Also very clean.
Tried to book a table for an evening but were told they don’t do reservations, just walk-ins. Decided to order a takeaway and told one hour wait. Charged the same price as eating in. Staff very young but very pleasant. Returned an hour later to...collect. 2 seafood pizzas, 1 Margherita and a garlic bread. Very disappointed. Garlic bread over cooked and like a crisp. Pizzas were seriously lacking the toppings and totally unappetising to look at. Really need to up their game, won’t be going againMore
Lorenzos, The Bay, Filey Tried to eat here with my family in August 2017 whilst staying at The Bay Filey. Nestled among the resort's many unfinished building projects, it offers a reasonable Italian menu. Sadly, on arrival for lunch, we were told that most items...were unavailable! It was high season, not October, and the dishes are hardly complex. Didn't realize my holiday involved time travel back to the mid-'70s! Eventually settled for a very average pizza. Fairly typical of The Bay Filey. Half-hearted and sub-standard in my view. Young staff are friendly and work hard without much support from resort management. That's what this place is like, I'm afraid. Welcome to The Bay!More
Coffee good nice and peaceful nice place to be.Atoms very relaxed, good clean decor, shame about the rain would have been nice to sit outside, weather not the fault of the coffee shop just a shame.
Long weekend at the Bay and arrived later than we all had planned so we took the plunge and got a table for four....just. Place was bustling and its clear people from the Bay like this place. Drinks are well priced, unlike the pub next...door who seem to thing you are captive so prices are hiked. Very pleasant waitresses and we really went across the menu with pizza, burger, and two pasta dishes, all arrived at one and piping hot. This really was a great way to start the birthday weekend and blew raspberries at the people who seen to slate establishments not realising the potential damage an unfair review can have. Good value, good fresh food and the price including 4 bottles of good quality wine was under £120 Good job Lorenzo's and we will be back in AprilMore
Give it a miss, you can't book, and have to wait outside because it is very small. The pizzas were excellent but as for the rest it bears no resemblance to any Italian I have ever eaten in. The toilet arrangement is unusual sort of...a cupboard directly off the main eating area, I doubt this complies with building regs. Venture of site and just a short distance away there is a proper Italian restaurant on the main road.More
Visited this morning (October 14th 2017) with a friend for bfast as we were staying on site. Having read reviews I was a little worried as some were quite negative but having been I think they reviewed another place! It’s a cute cozy place easily...reached via the beach path if you’re not staying on site. Around 12 tables I guess all nicely laid out with pretty lights. It’s clean and the two waitresses were attentive but not intrusive as we ate. We could see the food being cooked and the chef was happy in his work watching to see diners enjoy the food once served which was nice to see. We both had full English bfasts which included good quality sausages bacon vine tomatoes beans a slice of toast and scrambled poached or fried egg with mushrooms Unless you’re in a big group to me it makes sense to call in for breakfast rather than cook it yourself as for less than £15 incl drinks it was hot, tasty and a big portion I’d go againMore
Visited on our last night at the bay. We both enjoyed a garlic bread to start with & pizzas for main. Hubby had a chilli & pepperoni & I had a bolognese. Both so nice! Pizzas stonebaked but not crispy- cutlery needed! Staff attentive, good...wine & reasonably priced. Entire meal £42. Visiting again in November- will be dining there again! Thanks, Dani & PeteMore
