Pleasant traditional dog-friendly pub with local real ales and a decent menu. We were a group of 10 calling for lunch and our food was universally very good. Clientele was a good mix of locals and visitors.

Our dogs and our kids enjoyed this proper pub as much as we did. Whitebait, pie, Old Peculiar, Local Gin (Purple Ram), sticky toffee pudding and treats for the dogs. Can't fault it!

Description
We are a traditional Yorkshire Dales country pub with three newly-redecorated and refitted guest rooms available. We have a full restaurant, the focus being on providing honest, delicious pub fayre. That means home-made food using locally-sourced fresh ingredients. We have three restaurant areas, all with real coal fires and free broadband WiFi access. We are dedicated to the quality of our beers, lagers and ciders. We serve cask ales, including Theakston's Best Bitter, Theakston's Old Peculier, Theakston's Lightfoot, Theakston's XB and John Smith's Best Bitter. We also have a guest cask available, along with John Smith's Extra Smooth (a keg ale) and draught Guinness. We have excellent lagers on draught including Birra Moretti, Amstel and Kronenbourg 1664. For cider drinkers, we have Bulmer's Strongbow, Cloudy Strongbow and Symond's Founders Reserve. In addition to our draught products, we serve bottled ales, lagers, ciders and soft drinks plus a good variety of spirits, liqueurs, single malts and bourbons. Come and try our Mason gins, made in Yorkshire! We are family-friendly and dog-friendly and look forward to welcoming you to The Crown soon. It is always advisable to book a table in busy periods. ***The only way to book a room is direct via telephone or email***
