Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a great place for a night out: the food was excellent, as were the atmosphere and service. Having enjoyed the whitebait and lambs liver I would very happily eat here again. The portions were a decent size so I skipped the desert, but...my companions loved the 3 puddings combo and the boozy Eton Mess. The wine (Malbec) was good too.More

Beautiful place to stay couldn't be any more central to Hawes and all it's attractions. Had a lovely warm welcome and a bonus....my rather too heavy case was taken upstairs for me. Beds were comfortable and room and bathroom both clean and large. Really traditional...countryside inn. We ate evening meal and breakfast and the breakfast was by far the best breakfast I've ever tasted! Copious amounts of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs made with fresh cream absolutely divine. Kept us going all day. I've stayed in many hotels, many being 5 star that didn't live up to this....and none lived up to that breakfast or actually came anywhere near. Will love to return soon.More

The duck and whitebait starters were really good but the potted shrimp with small prawns rather than brown shrimp was a bit weird. The vegetarian king mushroom main was fabulous, the burger was very good and the lambs liver with lambs bacon was good but...was swimming a sage butter which just wrong! The boozy berry Eton mess was very good but the coffee was pretty awful. The staff were excellent and we were made very welcome. With some tweaks this pub could be an absolute winner.More

Avoid this pub and restaurant so we can get a table (selfish) as it is always full. From walking in the staff are so welcoming and friendly not like the fountain up the road, the locals who make it so uncomfortable we walked out after...one drink. The white bait and pork belly was to die for. We always book here when we visit Hawes as the food is first class and so are the staff. Keep up the good work. We will be back. Thank you.More

The White Hart is everything a good food pub should be - warm, welcoming, lovely staff, great food and drink, but with added surprise extras on the menu, gorgeous meats, fish and vegetarian dishes unique to the pub's chefs. Not overly expensive, well prepared and...served with a huge selection of wines and gins to choose from. Worth beating a path to Hawes for.More

We were a group of 12 with small kids, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic, something for all the family and excellent portions. The dessert was absolutely gorgeous, boozy cherry meringue sundae, I would highly recommend it 😋 Definitely the...best pub in Hawes for a meal.More

We chose to eat here whilst staying in Hawes. Lovely pub, very popular! Food was tasty although the fish and potatoes in my main were ever so slightly overdone. Portions were on the larger side and good selection of choices. I would say it was...on the expensive side. The staff were very busy and seemed to be a little lack of communication as half our starter plates were cleared and then our mains brought out even though some plates were still in front of us. Took ages for us to get our bill after asking one of the waitresses- we had to go up to the bar to remind them. Overall a nice meal.More

Already overwhelmed by the hospitality of the area, the White Hart just added the icing on the cake. So welcoming, and such good food that we ate here twice during our short stay. Interesting and different menus that catered well for vegetarians. Proper pies too....The combination of cosy dining areas and locals' bar is just perfect. Staff so helpful and friendly. Can't wait to return.More

I have rated 4 stars because of the prices and portion sizes compared with other places we visited whilst in the dales The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent however £20 for a small portion of liver and onions with bubble and...squeak is excessiveMore
