We went here for Valentine's Day meal and the food was wonderful, well presented and delivered perfectly. Predominantly fish on the menu with the odd chicken and steak option there was little choice for the vegetarian. We sat next to the door which when opened sent an icey blast of wind round the resturant. Surely the resturant could build a... More

We went for a Sunday meal to Wayfarer to enjoy the end of our weekend away. The food was delicious, well prepared and presented. On Sunday there is a Steak Night - £40 per couple which includes a bottle of a house wine (if you wish to get another wine you can pay the difference). The pre-booking is essential as... More

We were a bit concerned that this relatively upmarket bistro in Robin Hood's Bay might just cater to a captive market. We needn't have worried. The interior is impressive, but the food was better. Having a lamb shank with gluten-free sauce, monkfish and tiger prawns, chicken with parma ham, and roast cod with chorizo, we were all totally impressed with... More

Michelle has the place in great shape. Rooms and bistro have been renovated and are even more comfortable and luxurious than our last visit. Meal on Saturday night was absolutely superb. Well done. Booked again for a two night stay end April. Cannot wait...! Alan & Amanda - Leeds.

Had an excellent meal last night - starters were great - scallops and bacon and tempura king prawns. Mains that followed were even better - cod and chorizo and salmon with asparagus and Parma ham. Decent wine list, nice atmosphere and friendly staff If in the area I would visit again

We rang at the beginning of December to book a table for four, to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. We have eaten here on several occasions and had excellent meals. On arrival, the Bistro was closed (one hour after their advertised opening time). I immediately phoned to query this, to be greeted by an answerphone message. I did not leave my... More

I must start by saying the food was really good we had 3 courses and all were great. my main issue was that the service was far from good. we were served by 3 different people, one waiter insisted on squeezing by my wifes seat and she had to stop eating and move her chair each time. we moved our... We were a party of 8 who'd booked for 6pm. On arrival the restaurant was already buzzing which was great. Within half an hour it was full! But the service was efficient and friendly. Menu choices suit all tastes - but the specials board was for me. Lots of fish dishes....scallops, cod, tempura prawns. We chose to split a mussels... More

This is really best known for specialising in fish dishes. There are steaks on menu and a couple of other meat dishes. It is on the pricey side but enjoyed it. Starter tasted fantastic best I have had for a while. Steak was fine but it's not my favourite dish and as not bothered about fish I was a little... More
