Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food was lovely and very reasonably priced - we had lots to choose from as veggies, both sweet and savoury. We found out lots about the off - peak season culture and had a fantastic chat with the owner. He gave us recommendations about...dinner and was very accommodating with our food requests. What a lovely man and a lovely spot for a bte to eat.More

Fantastic location! We had freshly made donuts with a hot choc after a nice walk down the beach - couldn't ask for a nicer way to finish a walk than a trip to The Galley!

What a gem! Fabulous location with great drinks and food. Had a great walk on beach, then up steps for hot chocolate and freshly cooked donuts whilst watching the sea - very happy memory

The best jacket potato with cheese I’ve ever eaten. A wide selection of drinks including slush ones. Quite a decent coffee too. A beautiful spot to sit.

We have visited Robin Hoods Bay for the last 4+ years and every stay we go to The Galley for drinks and snacks, every day. Without fail the staff are always super friendly and really efficient. You can sit overlooking the bay, whilst enjoying your...food and/or drink or take it to the beach or your cottage. The customer service is excellent and always with a smile, come rain or shine. Well done The Galley! Hope to see you again next year.More

I had a lovely crab sandwich here with my Mum on holiday and we agree it was perfect, the best crab sandwiches we’ve had. Lots of crab filling with nice brown bread. The staff were really friendly as well. The location is fab too, sitting...overlooking the sea was beautiful. Would definitely come here again and would recommend to everyone.More

Fabulous little place for a nice sandwich, panini or jacket spud. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy lunch so came across this place. Lovely little gem. We ordered a couple of sandwiches. One cheese and onion and one cheese and pickle plus a tea...and a milkshake ( I was feeling nostalgic ). All of it was very tasty. The sandwiches were brimming with filling and in lovely soft bread too. Great views and a very friendly guy behind the counter. Lovely place for lunchMore

A special and very unusual setting; a great eatery with very friendly service and super food. Enthused by Tripadvisor reviews, we searched out the Galley on the Quarterdeck, knowing that we would be sat outdoors and that we would have fabulous views. The prawn sandwich...was memorable, and my hubby also enjoyed the tuna panini. We had a puppy with us, so the best route was to gain access via the beach and stone steps (tide allowing), as the open steel stairs would have caused us some challenges. A hidden gem. Thank you. We are sure to return.More
